It will not install keeps tell me i need adminstrator privileges

Hi sin96cd,

It would really help if you could mention what type of Operating System you are talking about. (XP or Vista, etc) Generally however if you go to Control Panel - User Accounts, you can see which login account has 'administration priviledges'. You may then have to log into that account unless it is password protected. Also you may want to try installing in 'Safe Mode' (F8 key when Windows starts).

Good Luck!

No administrator account - can't add or change accounts

the admin account created originally when xp was loaded should still be there somewhere (hidden), try starting in safe mode to see if the admin account displays then create a new admin account for your use, restart then the new account you created should be displayed.

Lost log in password for travelmate 3230

if winxp home
1. restart
2. press f8 to go into advance start up options
3. select "safe mode", then press enter
4. log on as the administrator (you better remember the password for this one if any... generic installations may not have a password for this account)
5. try to change the password (I'm not sure if you can but you can try) if your system has the ntfs file system you may have to create an administrator priviledged user and have that user taking ownership of the files you can't access as an administrator... ... if you have fat32 file system. you can just go right into your files..)

if winxp pro
1. you can just at the log on screen press ctlr+alt+del combination twice
2. type "Administrator" (and password if provided at time of windows installation)
3. start > right click on my computer> manage computer > users and groups > look for user name (your own) and right click>all tasks>set password (this will reset allow you to reset the password.)
4. read the desclaimer first then go for it.

I get error #1303 and am told to sign in as Administrator, however, I am the only user and am signed in as Administrator. I am trying to install my WordPerfect Office X4 on my laptop after a successful...

This is caused by the system folders having insufficient priviledges.

Do this...

1) Start - my Computer - tools - folder options.Select VIEW tab. Under Advanced Settings, de-select Use Simple File sharing. Close Window

2) In windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Documents and Settings. RIght click on All Users and select Properties. Select the Security tab. Select Administrators from the group or user names. Select Full control if it is not already selected.

3) Click Advanced. Select Replace Permission Entries On All Child Objects With Entries Shown Here That Apply To Child Objects .

4) Install Wordperfect. Once it has installed, re-enable file sharing from #1 above if it was enabled originally.
