Hi there,

Well you can  load BFD filters. But before you inserted a BFD between your AVR and sub you simply set up the balance between all your speakers and sub with the AVR trim controls and AVR test tones. Then your master volume of the AVR was your main volume control.

The situation hasn't changed much after inserting a BFD, other than you should not disturb the setting you set on the AVR sub trim because you may cause clipping or low level inputs into the BFD. So, use the subwoofers own amplifier volume to balance levels rather than the AVR sub trim.
Thanks

For RM-YD023, I need to control my Receiver volume while in TV mode. I can control my Sony Receiver while in AMP mode, but cannot change independent volume control so that I can keep the remote in TV mode...

I contacted Sony support for this same concern. Their response was that there is no volume lock option, you must switch back and forth from "TV" to "AMP" :(

Control the volume on each of the 12 bass shakers i plan to install

Please note that you can't simply wire them together in series or parallel. Connecting any more than 2 would likely cause damage to your amplifier. (depending on the impedance of the bass shaker 4 ohms, 8 ohms, etc.)

The Buttkicker brand recommends the following configuration for four buttkickers into one amp: Click here

As you can see, you need a combination of parallel and series connections to make sure the amp is "seeing" the correct load. I'd recommend purchasing three dedicated subwoofer amps (there are some good inexpensive ones at http://www.parts-express.com.

This will give you volume control over each set of four shakers at the amp itself. If you need control at each shaker, the only solution I know if is to use an impedance matching volume control.

Check Parts Express for those, too.

If this solved your problem, please rate it as FixYa. If not, let me know how else I can help you.

Good luck!

Carver stereo amp will only play

That should be normal. The main inputs usually go directly to the power amp. If you want volume control, put a mixer with faders beween them... Radio Shack used to have some inexpensive mixers.

Kenwood stereo control amplifier KC-206 doesn't work

I was able to use an universal remote control that I have, a Radio Shack Kameleon 6 in one remote control which I was able to program to run the audio portion of the Kenwood KC 206 control preamp. By adjust the remote sensor volume to max, I was able to get maximum volume out of the unit and drive the power section very nicely. Now I have to get up and manually turn the manual volume control for addition volume adjustment.

Hopefully Ken can find a remote that he can control the Kenwood control preamp the same way I did. Good luck here.

Hi,
If you are tech guy then follow below technical instructions to fix your Amp problem.
Amp has motorized volume control and motor drive circuit has problem so motor rotates just one side (ends up volume) Below picture shows how is motor board and what drive IC is to power the volume motor.
You need to check voltages at pins and replace bad IC.

It is very simple circuit and easy to repair.

Volume Control??

Unlike low-end hi-fi systems where you buy one box that does everything, the CD player you have is part of a component hi-fi system (i.e. you buy your CD player, tuner, amplifer etc. as separate items.) This is why there is no volume control. It needs to be connected to an amplifer. It's on the amp that you will find the volume control and where you connect the speakers. (When you connect it to your television, you are just using that amp in the TV instead.)

The CD player did originally ship with a remote control, but I don't know where you would be able to buy one on its own. You may find the the remote does allow you to alter the output level of the CD player, but you still need to connect it to a proper amp to get it to work.

Hope this helps,

Matt
