Question about Manfrotto MagFiber 190MF4 Tripod

Open Question

I have 486 RC2 ball head and a 190MF4 tripod. The ball head is not seated flush with the tripod and thus it wobbles. How can I adjust the ball head shaft to seat into the tripod?

IT SOME TIMES TAKES A LOT OF EFFORT TO SEPARTE THE HEAD FROM THE TRIPOD. MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE THE 3 LITTLE SCREWS FROM BELOW THE HEAD, AND MAKE SURE THE TRIPOD AND HEAD ARE NOT COLD. IF THEYA RE WARM THEY WILL SEPARATE EASIER.

SOURCE: I am also missing the quick release for my Vivitar

Try www.TripodQuickRelease.com for that part. There is listed the widest selection of quick releases and support more brands than any other web site I've seen. Because your tripod is not supported by the manufacturer; parts lists and pars are not available, you should measure the opening and see what other brand quick releases will work paying attention to the shape and locking mechanism. Otherwise just get another tripod.

You can try this:
spray lubricant between ball head and base, wrap the ball head with a heavy rag( to help prevent scratches, use a pip wrench on ball head while someone else holds legs ( or also wrap legs in cloth and hold in vise). DO THIS AT OWN RISK

There is a pretty hefty spring inside that will shoot out if you are not careful. Don't do it your self.

I dont know which head would fit my tripod

Most tripods have a standard screw on top. This allows users to mix&match tripods and heads. Thus, just about any head should fit your tripod. If you're not sure, take your tripod with you to a good camera shop and see if any of their heads fit. If one fits, it's a pretty good bet that the others will as well.
The choice of the type of head (pan-head or ball-joint), its weight, cost, and other factors are, of course, up to you.

I am looking for advice on how to mount a Ball Head on the plate of a regular tripod, So far I have not found a Ball Head that has the same size thread in the bottom. Is an adapter available as a solution....

The bottom threads on most tripod heafs are 3/8", but some are 1/4"/ The mounting screws on MOST tripods are 3/8", but I have seen `/4" (especially on monopods. IF:
tripod=3/8 head = 1/4 need mounting plate 3/8 female to 1/4 male
tripod = 1/4 head - 1/4 nothing
tripod 3/8 head 3/8 nothing'
tripod 1/4 head = 3/8 there is an adapter/reducer that screws into the 3/8
' female and reduces that to 1/4"

I cannot figure out how to get the plate off the head. I end up either putting camera on, then twisting the whole thing onto the tripod, or putting the head on the tripod and twisting the camera around to...

Sounds as if you haven't unlocked the quick disconnect plate from the 222 head.

Release the quick disconnect plate from the 222 pistol grip with the thumb release it will click open and pop the release plate up a bit to remove it. The affix this plate to the camera tripod socket 1/4 x20 female thread on the camera bottom. The underside of the quick release plate has a "D" ring to screw it to the camera, fold over the "D" ring and when you pit it back on the 222 set the edge under the lip and set it down the brass pin then will snap the thumb release over and lock into place.

See my diagrams

The water leak to the bowl. How to fix? Thanks.

This usually indicates one of two things: (1) a poorly seated flush valve ball, which can be easily adjustedor replaced, or (2) a flush handle chain that is too long and is getting caught between the flush valve ball and the seat, which is easily remedied by shortening the chain between the flush handle and the flush ball.

One other possibilty is that the fill valve is not shutting off the bowl wash function. There is a small adjustment screw for regulating the flow.

The flow of water into the bowl does not stop after the toilet is flushed.
