Yes! Stand behind the machine. Hold the handle at about 45 degree angle. Remove the airway inspection valve (press the yellow release button that's between the right wheel and the clear bin and then just pull away that curved piece of plastic pipe). Inside, where that pipe plugs in, you will see a square plastic molding that should slide up and down. Push that square piece upwards until it snaps in to place. The machine will then stand upright.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC14. The cleaner should recline easily into the vacuuming position when one foot is placed on the cleaner head, and the handle is lowered. If it's not doing this, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly. One of our experts will be happy to run through some troubleshooting over the phone with you, and provide further assistance. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US). My Dyson DC14 ANimal vacum cleaner has lost a lot of its suction, i have cleaned the regular filter but this does not seem to have improved it much. JAmie

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

A loss of suction is most likely caused by a blockage or a dirty filter. If you have cleaned the filter, it would be worth checking the machine through for a blockage by following the user guide or the diagnostics in the Support section on our website at www.dyson.com.

If you are still having difficulties with your Dyson, please contact our Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK) or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Have a dyson vacum and the beater bar stopped working. How do you fix the beater bar.

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

Check that the brush control dial is in the centre position when upright and then moves forward when the head is released. If the brush bar is still not spinning when switched on in the vacuuming position, check the base for blockages and remove any threads or hairs from the brush bar as outlined in your user guide or on our website.

If you are still having difficulties, please contact our Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK) or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Dyson DC14 Animal belt clutch slips.

The clutch problem needs to be looked at by a serviceman or professional who can repair Dysons. Slipping belts are often a sign of being overused or with carpet/textures that have caused the beater bar extra tension. I suggest if this model means much to you to get it repaired.

Suden loud noise when vacuming carpet

Hi.

Check that brush roller (beater bar) is free to turn with no obstruction.
If it is still noisey after doing this try this site for Dyson repair manuals.
