I have a broken belt 175D5131P003 on a GE washer Model WJRE5550K2WW, or a P620. I realize the belt will have to be stretched a great deal to fit over the drum pulley and the motor shaft, but cannot figure...

My GE Hotpoint VBXR1070W0WW stopped spinning. When I opened it the belt was very loose but it does not look worn at all. Is it the belt or probably something else?

Either the belt has stretched or the motor bracket has slipped (if adjustable). If the bracket is adjustable (like on a car alternator) you can just adjust out the slack and retighten, but if not then you must replace the belt.

My GE washing machine is making a grinding noise, sounded like a weed eater! in the spin cycle. I thought that it was to heavy of a load but I stopped and started it and it was fine. I washed two more...

Try these out:
  1. Balance the load
  2. Level the machine
  3. Inspect the water pump for a blockage
  4. Inspect the coupling
  5. Inspect the transmission
  6. Adjust the drive belt tension
  7. Check the motor bearings
  8. Check the drum brakes
please rate my suggestion...
