Question about JVC DR-MV1S DVD Recorder/VCR

1 Answer

I either get the message: "disc error" or "no disc" What had happened, the open button for the DVD was pressed but could'nt open as the cupboard door was closed. Not sure how many days it sat like this. It was very hot when I discovered it. I did what the manual suggested. Switch off, then hold the on/off button together with the stop button.

thank you for your very prompt response. The tray opens and closes OK. I bought a dvd lens cleaner. Unfortunately it didn't fix the problem. Still get the same reading.
The one I have cost over $450 and to buy an equivalent it is maybe $100 cheaper. I think I will contact JVC and find out if they have a local outlet and get a quote to fix it.

Hi, does the disk trap open as normal now or does it stay closed.

If it stays closed then the problem will either be with the motor has over heated and needs replacing or the drive has become damaged not allowing the tray mechanism to work as it should.

If the tray works as normal and you can insert disks and remove them then what you need to do next is go and buy a dvd lens cleaning disk you just put this into your player and it cleans the laser lens hopefully solving your problem.

If after doing this you are still getting the same message then the problem would be that the over heating you felt has done damage to the laser board, now the problem is these can be replaced but you have to decide is the cost of repair going to be more than the price of new dvd player.

If your dvd player is just a run of the mill one and not hd then these can be brought for next to nothing so if the disk lense cleaner dont solve your problem then its up to you what you want to do.

If you have electrical experiance and equipment to test parts of the board with then the chances are you could locate the exact faulty part and replace it but to do this you would need to get schematics diagramme and have the correct testing equipment.

Let me know if the problem is with the tray not opening or with the cd not being read by the laser.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Hi this is peter i have a problem hat i nt figer out. trying to install Punch Home and Land Premium i get this-- Error 1305.Error reading From file C: Program Files\Punch! Home and Land Premium\ tool...

Hello peter4927,

An, "Error 1305" message mean that; your computer is unable to read the "Program Disc" properly.

This error can occur if your CD or DVD is damaged, dirty, or caused by dust.

This can happen, if another program is "preventing your computer from reading the "Program!"
You will also receive this error if the "Disc Drive" is damaged or dirty.
Try cleaning the "Disc" first!
"Use a Disc Cleaner, to clean the CD-ROM / DVD Drive.
Place the "Program Disc in the Disk Drive; then "Restart the Computer!"
This will have the CD, or DVD start-up {Automatically}.
Next, you can try to start the "Disc" by using the "Auto-Run."
To do so; place the 'Disc' in the "Disc Drive Tray."
Next, [right click] on the "Computer Icon" to open the 'computer window'.
Now, right click, on the Disc Drive, and select the either, "Open, Explore or {Auto-run}.
Hopefully it will start.
Repeat each action if necessary!
"If there is anything else, you may need help with?
Write a 'comment,' I'll be here to assist you!"
"Best Regards"

Disk won't eject Error message: System error is detected System error is detected BE file:\Dvdv_util.c, line:264 Sensecode( 3: 2: 0), Detail:0x0

Hello

When operating, errors happen. Turn off the device.

(To turn off, press and hold the power button on the front
of the device for 10 seconds.)

After turning off, press the Open button and remove the
disc from the device
If needed reset the device to its factory settings after the disc is ejected. To reset it to factory settings:

Press the [UP] and [DOWN] buttons on

your DVD recorder simultaneously

when the power is on. All settings

including the password will revert to

the factory settings. Do not use this

unless absolutely necessary.

(Note that this function is possible only
when no disc is inserted.)
ok.

Toshiba sd-4205 5-dvd carousel changer declares mecha error during startup, will not eject tray.

This may not work for everyone, but.....
I had the same problem with the Toshiba SD-3205. After unplugging, trying button combos, etc, nothing worked. I could here a slight whine inside the machine, and then again...."MECHA ERROR".
I turned the unit on its side to see if there was a manual tray button on the bottom. Nothing. Then just to try it, I turned the machine off and on again while on its side.
It started up, I heard a clatter, and then the display changed to "INSERT DISC". I placed it the right way up again and pressed "OPEN TRAY" and it worked!
My theroy: There was one DVD in the carousel, and I think last time the tray shut, it got wedged somehow and prevented the carousel from rotating. Turning the machine on its side and pressing "OPEN" is what dislodged the disk.

Model No'DMR-ES15 - U61problem

I get this message occasionally on my Panasonic DMR-ES15. It's actually a really simple fix. It occurs when there is a corruption in the disc which causes the recording mechanism to malfunction. There is a separate error message for this, however it is usually not detected until it's too late. When the recorder asks you to carry out the recovery process, do it. When the disc ejects, make sure you take the disc out that was in there when it occured and throw it away...it will keep happening because the disc is permanently corrupted. However, do not close the tray without a disc or the self-check will fail. Instead pop in a disc of the same format that the error occured in (if it was DVD+RW then put in a DVD+RW). It resolves the problem every time on the first try. (It only happened two times in a year and a half for me). As the manual says the unit is "NOT BROKEN".
