Hi

Is your Mp3 player the RCA-M4204 MP3 player? If this is not your player then please post your player's brand and model.

The player cannot be turned on.

The issue can be a Empty battery - not charging would indicate a hardware problem, use a multimeter to check if the charger is supplying the voltage written on its label.

Check thatthe keys lock is not activated.

Try Reseting the player by pressing and holding MENU for more than 10 seconds. (repeat this step and hold the button down for 60 seconds)

If the player still cannot be turned on after resetting, perform a firmware upgrade to restore it.

The page linked has instructions on how to download and do the upgrade.

if the unit is completely dead, and the charger is supplying the required voltage (you tested it with a multimeter) then the player is probably fried or the battery is dead.

If you are within the warranty perioid the repair is free.

My onxy mp3 player won't charge despite being plugged into my USB port for hours

If the MP3 player battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR Thebattery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the batterydrops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.
