Toshiba A215-S4707 Battery performance issue

The 4000 mah battery on my A215-S7407 drains down at an alarming rate when the laptop is running (lasts less than 45 mins most of the time). Is this a common problem with Toshiba laptops ?

My battery drains quickly when the unit is turned off and not plugged into a 110 volt line. If I remove the battery from the unit when I power down, the battery will last for months. What causes the battery to drain when in the laptop but power is turned off?

Your computer has to remember everything you have stored on it and to do that you need battery. all laptops have 2 at least batteries one big one rechargable on bottom of laptop and second one is small inside your laptop. small one remembers it all, and refils from the big battery on the bottom. make sence?

Surpisingly alot are like that, in control panel > power options, change your power scheme to minimal power, it will get you longer battery life, but how much longer i am not sure of, depends on the laptop

I have a Satellite A215-S4807. The original battery went completely dead (possibly from this problem), so I just went out and got a new one with a 4800mAh, which is slightly higher than the 4000 it came...

There is something wrong with the "recharger" components on the computer's motherboard.
Instead of charging the battery, and then stopping the charging process, it is "draining" your batteries.

Take your Toshiba to the nearest qualified Toshiba service location, to get it fixed.

Toshiba Satellite A215-S7407 ram upgrade

Try to disconnect the new ram you just bought one at the time to see which one is defective. Also, 32 bit operating systems won't detect 4 Gb or ram, but they will show 3 Gb (even though they will use all 4 Gb). To resolve this issue, make sure that if you are using windows Vista to download the latest service pack 1.
