I had this exact same problem. After weeks of frustration, and
uninstalling, updating and reinstalling the software more times than I can
count, I discovered the solution was to make sure the USB cable was connected
directly to the computer, rather than through the USB hub I had been using.
Once I plugged it into the back of the computer the scanner finally started
working. Hope this helps!
Make sure that the printer is connected to your computer and you have the home center software installed on your system.
Try to install the latest version of Printer software from www.kodak.com/go/downloads
on your computer. then open the kodak home center software and click on scan pictures.
Adjust the settings and you are ready to go.
download the user manual from www.kodak.com/go/manuals.
