Envelopes jam, worked fine when I bought it 6mths ago

Hi Jerry
the paper tray has a triangular upright paper guide at the back edge (roughly in the centre) to keep the paper from sliding out the back of the tray. It has a serrated edge on the paper side. Try covering the edge with some masking (or similar) tape to make it smoother. Not sure about envelopes, but this has stopped copy paper jams, so worth a try. If it doesn't work for you...easy enough to remove the tape.
good luck!

My PC 745 comes up with an error code of a paper jam but I cannot find any jammed paper. Any suggestions.

completely remove the paper cassette and look for A SMALL PIECE OF PAPER stuck inside the machine in the paper path. Also use a flashlight to check for tiny bits of paper in the exit section of the machine where the fuser (hot) rollers are.

False Paper Jam Signal Canon MF5730

Try changing the quality of your paper.

Roughen up the rollere guides a little to you get better grip. Clean rollers with alcohol and use a green scrub mit to lightly rub the surface of the guide reels.
Hope that helps yours work too

Canon pc 420 paper feeds only part way

I had the same problem. I found a parts diagram here http://techno-parts.org/canon/220/320_220.php which showed that the springs hold the bar down. On mine, on each side, one of the spring tabs was broken.

I made a metal pin for one side and insert a screw on the other. Be sure and wrap the spring over the nylon bushing.

Lines repeating on copied paper from Canon PC 745 copier.

You probably have a piece of paper wrapped on your pressure cleaning roller inside the fuser. The patterm on the paper is the same and the spacing is equal and it is in the direction or feed.

Paper jam caused a message ''EO''

E0 is the code used by Canon for a fuser problem, the part of the machine that gets very hot and fixes the toner onto the paper. This code means that your fuser isn't heating up properly. It could be the heat element within the fuser or the overtemp fuse may have blown either way you should really have an technician look at it for you.
