Hi, Ok first things first: XP or Vista? What is the problem with it? When you first purchased it did you do a recovery back up? If so do you have the disc? What model do you have? Thanks

If your computer came with a system restore disk, put it in and follow the instructions. some Acer laptps have a hidden drive that restores it. Press ALT and F10, if it loads up forllow those instructions. Order one from https://secure.tx.acer.com/RCDB/Main.aspx?brand=acer
just put in you serial numbers from your computer and it will guide you to buying the CD.

It is not hard as it may sound, they all guide you.

I want to Restore my Acer5315 back to factory settings> I dont have recovery CD. Please i need help thank you.

Telephone ACER's "technical support", and order a replacement set of "System Recovery" CD/DVD disks. Probably, about $20, plus $20 for overnight courier-shipping.

Then, backup all your files, and use those disks to restore your computer.

I need to reset my acer aspire 5520 to factory settings without recovery discs

Hi,

There is a recovery console on your HDD (Hard Disk Drive) this is a hidden partition on your HDD. If you power on your laptop and hold the ALT key and keep tapping the F10 key while it posts to the acer logo screen it will goto a black screen with a flashing cursor on the top left then stop tapping F10 and remove your finger from the ALT key, you will then see windows loading files. This will take you to the recovery console and from there you can select restore laptop to factory defaults or restore laptop retaining user data.

Hope this helps

Acer Aspire 9300-3716 password

My advice to you is technical. You need to reset the CMOS on the motherboard internally. As for the password in vista unless you know it you will more than likely have to re-install vista or do a systme recovery by using the e-recovery partition that comes stock with ACER computers. I do not advise you to try resetting the cmos if your not technically capable

Perform a system recovery:
Does not come with recovery cd's - there is a program that allows you to burn the disks or
recover.
3 ways:

1. If in Windows - Start - Programs - Acer empowering technology - Acer E-recovery management -
click on Restore at bottom then "Restore to factory default settings"
2. Or click on Burn disks instead of restore
3. if unable to ge into Windows then Alt/F10 during boot right after Acer splash screen on startup

Computer restor back to factory set

Pressing F10 on start up, is not for acer laptops, you need to have done a back up when you first got it running and use e-recovery to recover from your 'D' drive. see this explanation http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_3680.html
