Blue Screen of Death, after Windows Logo. Wants to check Fat32

My aspire 3000 comes up with blue screen of death right after Windows logo. It says it's checking consistency of drive C, and something about Fat32 files. It then goes through many steps of recovery, but then at the end, it just sits there and takes no other steps. I have to shutdown the "unsafe" way, cannot get to "shutdown".If I press any key within 10 seconds, it will continue on to my screen, and will let me go to internet for a few brief minutes, but will then repeatedly pop up with Dr. Watson Debugging error, and some other file error, shuts down internet, etc. I have tried several ideas, but it will not even let me get to "my computer" to check for disk errors. Now this morning, I tried to put in recovery disc, followed instructions, but it starts up as normal and goes right to the blue screen. Is my computer dead?

Hi, I'm looking at my BSOD right now, first line says Checking file system on C:
The type of the file system is Fat32.
One of your disks needs to be be checkef for consistency.
    Volume Serial number is 320D-180E
windows if verfying files and folders...
\found.000 first allocation unit is not valid. The entry will be truncated.
..it then goes on to show windows replaced bad clusters in file\hiberfill.sys of nam (null)..
and then it got on and on replacing bad clusters in many files.
It will then go on to do this until it reaches 100%, but then this is where it will just stop and do nothing.

Thank you, and sorry for the lack of technical knowledge, have never had a computer do this to me before!

Hi,

Put the recovery disc in, restart the laptop, when you see the Acer splash screen press and hold down ALT whilst tapping F12.

It should show boot order, select DVD drive and press enter, it should start the recovery process.

If not, restart and enter the bios, find the boot order menu and change the boot order so the CD/DVD drive is first in the list, now save changes and exit.

Now it should boot straight from disc and start the recovery process.

Are you running XP or Vista?

Thanks

If the machine is starting up and goes right into a Blue screen, I would go into the bios and check for a setting that says something like Sata native mode (or something along those lines, as they vary by maker) changing this setting may resolve your issues. Depending on your system bios it may be in the advance section. Just look aroung in the bios and see if you find such an option. Whatever it's at now, change it to the other option (there will only be two) and save the settings. Do not change anything else as this could cause you further issues.
It may not be called sata native mode, but it will definately say something about sata. Good luck :)

Does it Start in Safe Mode? Press F8 key or whatever gets you into the screen that lets you choose how to start Windows.Choose Safe Mode.Further help can be tried if you can get it to start in safe mode.Sounds like power loss while writting to C drive.Good Luck.
