Re: Dryer not working on washer /dryer

Hi there as no model number for your w/d has been supplied it is quite difficult to diagnose fault but the usual faults on a dryer unit not drying are the overheat thermostats blowing, or the element burnt out and somtimes the fan motor ceasing.

hope this is of some help to you murdozzz

try flipping you breaker off and on 2 or 3 times (hard and fast) if this don't work check element, timer , thermostats and safety switch on motor 2 heavy red wires (check wiring diagram for pin numbers of safety switch)....if this switch goes bad the motor will still run but it wont let power go to element washer motor has heat overload sensor

Washer Dryer

washer dryers work by using a fine jet of cold water to condense the steam from your clothes drying. therefore, water has to be turned on when in the drying mode. make sure water is on.
after that, if water is in fact turned on, then the fault will probably lie in the valve being open circuit

Washer dryer is no longer drying

two things to check take rear half of cabinet off and check the dryer duct (lhs from front) is not blocked. this is very common check water is being taken in during dry - the water is used to condense steam from the drying clothes. easiest way to check this is to see that some water is being drained during the drying cycle. i assume that drain is operating ok
