Odor in dishwasher, not cleaning silverware, dissapointed

I purchased this dishwasher a few months ago and it has an odor that the salesman at lowe's said would go away. it has not. I get headaches from odors and is that bad that it triggers my headaches at times.

It has been a total disapointment!!! It does not dry well,(it requires a drying agent to make it dry) ,the racks are inefficient the way they are designed, the silverware does not come out clean, the silverware racks are not designed well. Before I purchased this diswasher I had a kitchnen aid for 34 years. I changed because this was reccomended to be the best. It is not best for me...I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS PURCHASE!
I THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE THE LAST DISHWASHER I WOULD HAVE TO PURCHASE...NOW I HAVE TO LIVE WITH THIS DISHWASHER THE REST OF MY LIFE THAT IS NOT UP TO ITS NAME!

It is very quite and that is the only positive thing I can say.

Most dishwashers have a strange smell, forever. It's the nature of the beast. A drying agent is required for dishwashers, even when using the drying cycle. Silverware is difficult to get clean, if it isn't prewashed, like everything else. A liquid dishwasher detergent along with turning your hot water temperature up a few degrees will help matters.
Don't overload it and the dishes will come out a lot better.

this is decade food. you need to put a cleaner in the tray like calgol in the system this will clean the system use it regularly, there are other branded of dishwasher cleaners make sure its on the hottest wash first time don't put items in the washer and when done leave to dry. do this every month and it will not smell. will keep the washer clean and fresh.

I would check your drain line. If its connected to the disposal make sure its elevated you may be getting back flow from the disposal into the dishwasher. Hope this helps _MJ_

I have a BOSCH model 53L06UC dishwasher and was

every bosch dishwasher unit is different. you can get odor from different source. #1 solution to fight odor is the proper maintenance. every month run the cycle with just a cup of vinegar on a hot wash. i am a old bosch tech and alot of people dont add the jet dry properly. this is for drying, spots and-cleaning you must add the jet dry or rinse agent (same thing)into the compartment. close compartment, then lower and raise door 3 times, then fill again repeat until you cant add anymore then it is filled.if this help please send me a 4 thumbs up post. thanks

My Ge Dishwasher (bought less than a yr ago....has a terrible odor. Vinegar solves it for a few days but comes back....any way to remove the ''basket'' to see if food is trapped?

Couple things you can check. One is check the drain and where it is connected, Usually into the disposal. If so then remove the hose and give it a good cleaning or re plaice. Sometimes the hose can fill up with small food particles from the dishwasher and remain stuck in there and work its way back into your clean water.
Also try this, run some hot water in your faucet, and smell the water, if your detecting a odor, then you may want to flush out your water heater, may be filled up with excess tank contaminates etc.

Good Luck!
Hope this helps you out.

I have just moved into a resale home{two years old} and the bosch dishwasher has a terrible odor what do i do?

Works for me, empty the dishwasher of any dishes, silverware, pot or pans, get (2) jars of "Tang" orange drink. Use (1) jar to fill the soap dispenser and poor the rest into the bottom of the dishwasher.
Run the dishwasher through a normal wash cycle with no heat/dryer time.
Run a second time if necessary. The orange juice acid will dissolve the build up in the dishwasher and rinse it away. It also smells good when your done.
For regular maintenance, repeat once every 3 months or so. It will not harm the dishwasher and will keep the interior components fresh and clean.
Good luck.

I have an Everstar portable A/C unit that I purchased from Home Depoy 2 months ago. It works fine but it has begun to stink. How do I stop the odor?

There is water(condensation) that has built up in the unit and is stinking due to the water is growing mildew. Is the air conditioner condensation line plugged? If this is a window unit also make sure that it is level or not all the water will drain out and cause this odor. The odor should diminish after the water has completely dried out.
