Your problem sure sounds like the freshfood evap fan is not working, giving you warm temps. This is a dual evap, so the freezer is not affected by this. If the fan does not come on when pressing the light switch, that needs to be replace. You have the most current board in this fridge so you do not need to waste money buying a new one as that is not your problem. the fan is what you need to replace
Go to www.geappliances.com scroll down to enter appliance model# and you will be able to view a breakdown of your fridge. Once you find the breakdown it is item# 816 in the freshfood section (since ou havent specified ur model number i assume its ge profile.... u will be required to put in ur model number and then give a search for the break down diagram)....It is very easy to replace this, remove the lower drawers, locate the 3 screws that hold the assy. 2 on top 1 on the left side, disconnect the wires, and put the new one in....

Fridge section is working fine but the freezer is not getting quite cold enough.

Good day,
You didn't say how long this has been an issue. That would help.
First check to see if you can hear the fan in the freezer compartment running when the machine is on. It's easy to tell, if you open the freezer door. As well. see if there is any frost building up on the rear panel in freezer compartment. If so, then it is not defrosting automatically, and could be a defective timer or defrost thermostat and heater located in the freezer section behind the rear panel.

If that's all good, then on some smaller GE top mounts, there were only one main control. If yours has a freezer damper control, obviously turn it colder. If not turning the main thermostat will allow the whole machine to run colder. Both the freezer and the fresh food section.

Lastly, machines with light usage (less than 20 door openings on the main fridge door per day) will cause the machine to run too little, causing your problem.

I have a ge gss22kgpacc side by side, the freezer is working, lights, etc. all working, but the refrigeratoe side is not working, any insight? thanks, mike

on most units they have two controls refrigerator control is electric t-stat that runs compressor freezer control think of it as a door colder freezer door is barely open warmer freezer door all the way open all cooling coils are in the freezer and a fan moves the air to refrigerater side possible problem fan not running
door freezer control all the way closed
light switch broken light staying on door gasket not sealing tight find door switch press verify light shuts off and fan starts
look for torn or damaged door gasket can look from outside with light and see if gasket contacts case on all four sides
freezer is cold enough so compressor is ok hope this helps good luck ron

I have a GSS25KGMD fridge. I opened the Fridge compartment top part was very warm and the bottom was cooler. Upon investigating more I noticed that the fridge bulb was very hot. So I pushed the fridge...

Your refrig light switch does control the freezer fan and the refrig light bulb . Replace the refrig light switch .
Open the refrig door , freezer fan goes off and the refrig light comes on .

Refrigerator side of hotpoint side by side quit working - replaced the control panel and it is still not working. the crisper drawers seem to be colder than the refrigerator part, but it is still not cool...

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp ..

GE Fridge/Freezer Having to turn temp up just to keep it cold

From your comment. It's not that you have to defrost the parts, that's what they're called. "defrost timer", "defrost t-stat" and "heat element". Defrosting the whole fridge for a few days actually will clear the ice blockage if that's it but it will return in a couple weeks if the "defrost cycle" isn't doing its thing. A fridge typically goes into some form of "defrost cycle" to keep it "frost free". As an example, every 12 hours the compressor turns off and the evap. fan turns off then a heat element turns on to melt the light coating of ice on the "cooling coils". Once about 1/2 hour goes by the heating turns off and the cooling turns back on again. This repeats over and over to keep the ice from building up too much. If that cycle is broken, the ice will build and build till the whole coil is a block of ice. Then the air can't flow around it to provide cold air for the whole unit. It acts basically like putting a large block of ice in the freezer and keeping the doors closed... without a fan to move the cold air only the very lower portion of the freezer is cold, the rest is warm.
