Refrigerator- Kenmore Elite 795.77573600 Error "error if" appeared on display panel. I believe this is related to the ice maker fan. Unplugged freezer and turned ice maker off. Turned refrig. on, and error message does not come back. Error message reappears within 5 minutes if I turn ice maker back on. Refrig has been working without ice maker turned on for several weeks; however, the freezer has alot ice built up on the top and back of freezer. Do I need part number 1463582 (dc mtr.)? Also, does anyone have instructions and/or procedures for replacing necessary part?

The freezer ice is probably building up because of a 'defrost cycle' issue. I have looked up the 'if' code for your machine. There is no mention of that fault. It is an LG right? Made for Kenmore. I have a service manual that is close, but not that specific model that I looked up. Once you correct the freezer issue with the ice build up, you may not see that error come back. I'm sure the ice is affecting several things.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Function TEST for Ice maker--

1. This is a compulsory operation for TEST, SVC, cleaning, etc. It is operated by pressing the water supply control KEY for 3 seconds.
2. It operates in the Icemaking mode, but not in the Ice-Removing mode or water supply process. (If there is an ERROR, it
can only be checked in the TEST mode.)
3. If the water supply control KEY is pressed for 3 seconds in the Icemaking mode (no matter what condition the Ice-Making
tray is in) the Ice-Removing operation starts immediately. Water is not yet frozen, so water is poured instead of ice. If the
control doesn’t operate normally in the TEST mode, check and repair as needed.
4. After water is supplied, the normal CYCLE is followed: Icemaking → Dump → Fill → Park Position.
5. When Stage 5 is completed in the TEST mode, minimize MICOM in 5 seconds, the time needed to supply water resets to
the previous status in the TEST mode.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Hi,
Error code 1F indicates an abnormality of the BLDC fan motor for ice making, caused by a poor BLDC motor connection.done it sounds like it is usually a bad fan motor that causes this condition. This will prevent the icemaker from working. I'm not sure if it will affect the defrost cycle. If you turn off the icemaker, then either pull the plug for a few seconds or turn off the circuit breaker for a few seconds, the front panel will light up and stay lit. Then you need to call for service.

Thanks
Smith.

I have a Kenmore Elite Refrigerator, Model No. 795.77573600. The ice and water dispenser give the error message Er 1F. In searching online it appears that this problem is related to the ice compartment...

This is an error code for the icemaker fan motor.
If the control does not see a signal coming back from the fan motor you will get this error code.
Please see the image below from the service manual that explains the ER IF error code.

The ER IF code indicates a failure of the icing fan.

You may notice slower ice production but the other fans should be okay.

You can select the ultra ice option and see if the fan toggles on.

The fan or the control is bad.

What does ER FF mean on my Kenmore Elite bottom

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error ff is freezer fan fault. This usually happens when either the rear board has gone bad or the freezer fan itself is bad and needs to be replaced. To check what is causing the error you can start with checking the fan which is located behind the back wall inside the freezer. Also check the rear board as it might not be putting the fridge into defrost long enough and is causing the ice to build up in the freezer and thus stopping the freezer fan from turning and so causing ff error. Leave the fridge unplugged for 24hrs which will melt all the ice then plug it back if still the issue is not resolved and you hear the fan running then it is the rear board that needs to be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Er if code on display

ER means Error code......
The If error message indicates that the fan for the ice maker has failed. The main control board receives a feedback signal from this fan motor for the ice maker. If the feedback signal is abnormal or missing, then the error message will be displayed. The fan motor for the ice maker could be bad. You could also have a bad wiring connection between the motor and the control board. A remote possibility would be that the control board is bad. This is not likely since you noticed the ice melting in your storage bucket.

I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair this failure.

Error code Er IF is on the display and noone from sears can tell me what it is, does anyone know?

ER IF means error icing fan, the problem is with a little board that is behind the water dispenser. Change this board and you will be in business.
