If you are using Windows XP, go into the Control Panel and then click User Accounts. In Vista, it is almost the same. Start the Control Panel and then under the User Accounts and Family Safety, click "Add or Remove User Accounts.

Ok if you mean a new windows account, go to control panel > users > new user and follow the instructions. after the new user account is created, restart the computer and log on to it.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Delete account

I am assuming that you are using Windows 7 but the basic steps are same for XP and Vista. You need to go to the Start Menu, then click on Control Panel. In the control panel find User Accounts. Inside user accounts you can manage and delete users (assuming you are logged in as an administrator.)
Hope that helps.

Remove User Accounts from the Login Screen in Windows XP
So you login to your computer every single day, but there’s morethan one account to choose from… either because you got the computerfrom somebody else, or some software package added a user account thatyou really don’t want to see. So how do we hide that other account fromthe login screen?
There’s a simple registry that you can do to hide accounts fromthe login screen, or you could alternatively delete the user account ifyou really don’t need it. Both methods are listed below.

Open up regedit.exe through the start menu Run box, and then navigate down to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NT
CurrentVersionWinlogonSpecialAccountsUserList
On the right-hand side you’ll see a list of keys that correspond touser accounts that are considered “Special” and are not to be shown onthe login screen

Create a new DWORD value with the same name as the user name thatyou want to hide. You’ll note that the actual username in theillustration was “OtherPerson” and not the description that was shownon the login screen.
To unhide the account, simply delete the registry key that you created.

The next time you log off you’ll see that the other account is gone.
Hide User Account with Tweak UI
You can also use the Microsoft Tweak UI PowerToy to do the same thing. (Thanks to Gustav for reminding me to include this)

Just click on the Logon key in the left hand side, and then uncheck the box for “Show <username> on Welcome screen”
Login to Hidden Account
You can still login to the account even though it’s not shown… You’ll just have to use a little trick.
At the login screen, just hit the Ctrl+Alt+Delete combination twicein a row, and you’ll be presented with the old-school login screen, where you have to manually enter the username.

Type the name and password of the other user, and login.
Delete User Account
Alternatively you can always delete the user account if you areabsolutely sure that you don’t need that user account anymore.Right-click on “My Computer” and choose “Manage”

Navigate down through “Local Users and Groups” and then Users, and thenlocate the username in the list that you’d like to get rid of.

Just right-click and choose Delete. Note that this step cannot bereversed, so make sure you only delete accounts you really really don’twant anymore. If you are unsure, you can just hide them using the firstoption above.

Go to Start ----Control panel----User accounts-------Manage another account------ Create New account. This way you can create user ccount and name it as you want in WIN7. Win xp it is same only the user account you'll find creat new account option.
To chage the user name also you need to go through this procedures, in this case you don't need to create new account, here you have to name the old account of yours.

Hi i need to restore my Phillips iqor computer to factory settings as i am getting rid if it and don't want to leave my personal information on it

You don't have to go thru all that trouble to get rid of your personal information. First just create a new user account with administrative rights that the person who is getting your computer will use. After you create the new user account reboot the computer and log on with the new account you created. Then Delete your old user account. It will delete all your documents, music, pictures, videos.

Click Start/Control Panel/User Accounts then create the new user account with Administrative Rights (not limited).

Reboot and and log on with the user account you just created.

Click Start/Control Panel/User Account and select the account you want to delete and Delete it. When asked about files to save, you want to delete everything associated with the account you are deleting.

If you have more than one user account you want to delete, do the same thing for it.

My HP tablet just stooped letting me go on the enternet? Don't know why. Was my son's & he told me to get rid of all his stuff on it,scared to do that. Can you help?

A simple procedure would be to create an account for you. Choose a user name and a password. Give you user account administrator powers. Luckily the OS will create the account with all the defaults options and you should be able to go on the Internet.
To create a user account, Click the START button, Look for Control panel and press the ENTER key (or left mouse button.) In the open control panel look for an icon with human faces (users). Click the icon and choose create a new account. Make sure it is an administrator's account. That will allow you to do all the modifications you want.

Once you create the account, restart the computer and log on to your new account. If everything is OK and you can go to Internet you might want to go back to the control panel>manage account and suppress your son's account.

How to bypass Windows password for dell inspiron D630

If you're talking about the Windows Password for a user account try this: Turn the laptop off then turn it back on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see an option for SAFE MODE. Take the Safe Mode option and let the computer boot up. When it gets to the login screen it will show you the Administrator account and the account for the user that you don't know the password. Select the Administrator account and hopefully it's not password protected. When you get into the windows desktop click Start/Control Panel/User Accounts. Under user accounts select the user for which you don't know the password then select the option to Remove Password. Click OK and reboot the machine.

Forgot user account psswords

If you have forgotten your password, if you have another user account with
administrative privileges you can log into that account and change your
original user account's password from the User Accounts applet in Control
Panel. If you don't have another account like this set up or don't have the
password to it, you'll need to log into the built-in Administrator account.
In XP Home, boot the computer into Safe Mode. Do this by repeatedly tapping
the F8 key as the computer is starting up. This will get you to the right
menu. Navigate using your Up arrow key; the mouse will not work here. Once
in Safe Mode, you will see the normally hidden Administrator account. The
default password is a blank.

In XP Pro, you do not need to go into Safe Mode. At the Welcome Screen, do
Ctrl-Alt-Del twice to get the classic Windows logon box. Type in
"Administrator" and whatever password you assigned when you set up Windows.

To change the built-in Administrator account in XP Pro if you can log into
another account with administrative privileges reset the password in the
Local Users and Groups snap-in in Microsoft Management Console (MMC):

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type "mmc" (without the quotation marks), and then click
OK to start MMC.
3. Start the Local Users and Groups snap-in.
4. Under Console Root, expand "Local Users and Groups", and then click
Users.
5. In the right pane, right-click Administrator, and then click Set
Password.
6. Click Proceed in the message box that appears.
7. Type and confirm the new password in the appropriate boxes, and then
click OK.

If you reset the built-in Administrator account's password in Home or have
Pro and don't remember the password, use NTpasswd to change the built-in
Administrator account's password to a blank.

I want to donate a toshiba satellite a55-s326 and want to restore factory settings but don't have discs.

Don't bother. Log on as the Administrator, usually you need to do ctrl-alt-del twice at the log on screen to be able to enter this account or start the machine in safe mode. Usually there is no password.
Remove your data and delete the accounts (control panel, user accounts)! Uninstall all software that you do not want to leave on the machine. Create a new account - User. The new user can change the name later.
