thanks for the reply, but I figured out the problem. if you barely tap the usb plugin the mouse connection gets messed up and has to reconnect.

On the control panel, try setting the priority on your mouse to HIGH.

This is probably a way for the mouse to conserve battery power when it has been idle for a while. Is there any software that was installed for the mouse. If so check and see if there is any settings that would cause this like a sleep mode ect.

you might have to uninstall the mouse then restart your computer then reinstall the mouse and its drivers
make sure the battery is good (has full charge)also you might test the usb device for the mouse is inserted correctly into the usb port (if applicable)
click start control panel mouse you should see 4 tabs buttons, pointers, pointer options and hardware under hardware you can troubleshoot also you can select properties under driver you will have options to update driver, rollback driver or uninstall and under hardware you can troubleshoot

My cursor on the screen will not respond to the movements of my mouse. 1) the green light on the USB receiver is green and not flashing 2) there is red light on the bottom of my mouse, indicating power

Still change the batteries even tho you have a light on. These things get funky when power is low.

if that doesn't do it, un plug the adapter and re place it,then reconnect devices.

Mouse won't allow laptop to go into sleep mode

Unplug the USB port when it is not in use. It will also save the battery which die quickly if left plugged in to PC.

Microsoft wireless mouse 3000 - all lights are on; flash upon reset, but still doesn't work. Running Vista 64-bit.

Try to take off battery and next push and hold down the small button that protrudes where the receiver is placed in the mouse, put back battery and simultaneusly release the button,it might make the mouse operate correctly. Good luck!!!! Chawah.

I had the same problem.
Press the button on the underside of the USB, the green light will flash. Now press the reset button on the underside of the mouse. Your mouse should now work.
