Installed the C4580 fine on 20 Aug 09 onto 3 week old Dell 1545 Laptop, but after 29/30 Aug started getting this error message on shutdown. Afraid I am a computer biffer and asked work colleagues for help. Also computer started to crash - blue screen of death 'Windows has shut down to protect your computer' message, followed by black screen auto windows restart as normal. Vista always has booted up okay. This occurs during internet browsing. Today I attempted to uninstall all HP printer info from the computer, prior to downloading new driver (in case mine wasn't the most recent), and as soon as I tried to uninstall the driver (version 12), the computer crashed. Uninstalled all HP individually except for main driver okay, then tried driver uninstall again - same awful blue (screen) feeling again. Downloaded printer driver anyway from HP site, installed , and got message that this driver already installed. Laptop crashed just after printer printed its test page. After restart the printer working okay, wireless connection okay, but still worried that HP driver is causing the laptop to crash. Have replaced IE8 with firefox as colleagues say this should ensure greater stability. Any advice welcome. For all computer wizards sorry for my utter lack of knowledge!!
