This is most likely caused by faulty gas valve coils. These electrical coils are right above the gas valves and when energized, these solenoids open the gas valves and permit the burner to light. Faulty gas valve coils are a common cause of "cycling". It is recommended that if any coils are suspected of being faulty that both (all) be replaced at the same time. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Gas dryer does not heat igniter glows red gas valve clicks but no flame

Hello,

Since the igniter glows i am wondering if within 1 minutes does it go off??or does the igniter just stay on??

If the igniter just stays on and doesnt go off the problem is going to the FLAME SENSOR

if the igniter goes off but no flame the problem will be the GAS VALVE COILS

Hello,

Their are 2 possible things wrong;

1) Does the igniter just stay on or does it glow and go off usually within 1 minute?..if the igniter just stays on and never goes off the FLAME SENSOR will be the problem
here is what the flame sensor looks like oldtech2332_86.jpg

Maytag drier goes off after flame comes on. Flame comes on for a second then power goes off. All lights on timer flash?

perhaps the igniter is not strong enough to keep the dryer lit. if it is orange in color you need to change it, it should be white hot to open the valve to keep the gas flowing. hope this helps.

Dryer gas ignites Runs for up to 5 minutes flame goes out

check the igniter to make sure it is glowing white and not orange. if it's orange replace it. you may also need the gas coils replaced.

igniter stays on, no flame.-flame sensor

no glow from igniter.-igniter

Gas dryer heat is intermediate

does the igniter glow white or orange? if it is orange you need to replace it. has to be white hot to ignite. if the igniter is white it could be the coils not opening the gas valve all the time - an intermittent problem.

Gas dryer mod.# MDG6000BWW, Igniter lights but no flame

Replace the flame sensor on the side of the heat canister. You may also have to replace the gas valve coils.
