Question about Optimus Audio Players & Recorders
This is most likely a dirty laser lens on the CD drive. You can try a CD lens cleaner, but they don't work all the time.
To do a better cleaning job, open up the unit yourself so that you can get to the laser lens, use a qtip and dip it in alcohol 70% and wipe the lens clean.
Here is a example video on how to clean a laser lens, you clean all the laser lenses this way:
After cleaning the lens, it should work normally. if it does not, attempt to clean it atleast 2 more times.
If the problem still remains, the laser or the optics are failing, you might be able to fix the issue by replaceing the laser assembly on the cd drive. But It may be cheaper to replace the unit instead of replacing hard to find parts.
