Question about Mitsubishi WT-46807 46" Rear Projection Television
1.)It sounds like a convergence problem.
2.) This site currently has a problem--I can only answer a question 1 time and currently not able to reply further--been going on here for a day or two--you can also get me at: firstname.lastname@example.org
3.) If picture looks 3d you have a convergence problem--Let me know via email or here exact model number and brand and I will tell you what needs to be done. I have repaired hundreds of sets with this kind of trouble.
4.) Do not rate this post here until we are sure what your problem is.
5.) IF the set should shut down and it is Mitsubishi engage the self check feature--hold both the MENU AND INPUT BUTTONS ON THE FRONT OF THE SET IN FOR 5 SECONDS AND RELEASE BOTH OF THEM.
6.) Power light should blink a two digit code---for example--2 blinks, a pause and 2 blinks---it will repeat it about 10 times.
7.) IF set comes on and red or blue out of place with the original remote go into the customer menu and try to adjust----if either red or blue will not adjust in some direction--you found your trouble---a bad convergence ic--most models use two and they both need to be replaced.
Contact me with more information or any questions you have.

If the colors are wavy and will not move using the remote convergence menu your convergence ICs are most likely bad.
You can only adjust the red and blue in the customer menu,
If the ICs are bad (probably are) after you solder new ones in you may not need to do any adjustments , so leave the adjustments alone if . If you would prefer a repairman fix the set the ICs can be replaced for between $300 and $400
this model HD PTV has two convergence ICs on the large deflection module. taking it apart will require philipsand 1/4" bits and involves unplugging cables that should are marked with two letters each for easy reinstallation
I will not go into detail about how to take the circuit board out, but know this there are alot of screws holding it down after removing the back disconnecting and all connectors. The ICs are clipped to a large heatsink and when replacing make sure there is some heatsink compound on the metal to metal surfaces. also look carefully at the resistors near the ICs, replace any that look burnt (discolored) and do not measure the same ohmage as is written on them. The two ICs are part # STK392-570 and the sell online for around $30-$45 each
after replacing the ICs adjustment needed can be done in the customer menu , muti color adj, save the adjustment by pressing menu when done
hope this helps
