Intermittent popping sound

I recently purchasded and set up a new Z-5400 5-1 speaker system to work with Sony KDL-32D3000 tv and HXD870 dvd recorder. Tv is connected via optical and dvd via co-axial cables.
System works well and sound very impressive. However every so often (about 22min) there is a disturbing 'pop' sound that can be quite startling. This occurs when using tv or dvd. Could this be due to a static discharge or what. Any ideas as to solve the problem would be appreciated.

No problem with earthing system so unlikely this causing problem. It may be due to other appliances cutting in/out ie freezer etc. Frequency of 'popping has much reduced after plugging amp into different socket. Will try connecting via surge suppressed terminal block next. Thanks for your help. Regards, J

I have two month old Bose Lifestyle 28 Home Theater system installed by the Geek Squad and wired into my home. All worked perfectly until a few days ago when a "poppiong in the speakers began. Only occurs on AUX wheather the TV is on or not. Is this a failure of some component inside ?

I have eliminated interferance from outside sources by turneing everything in the house off. What gives ??

Sony BRAVIA KDL-40V2500 audio not working

I would Google the model number carefully for "problems" "no sound" and usually this set will display some kind of error code===it may even have a hard reset to try===service manuals are available on the net/web to allow you to see how the sound circuit is set up etc.

No sound from TV thru sony bravia hdx576wf; DVD & CD audio ok.

Could be a sync calibration issue. Try to divert the TV sound to another input source on the Hometheatre system if possible, if it is a go then maybe the TV audio needs to be recalibrated. Make sure TV audio setup menu option has not changed also.

I have a sony rdr-hxd870 dvd and as much as I follow the set up diagram I cannot get any signal via my sky digibox. I can get a signal via the analogue set up. The tv and sky reception work ok, but I...

this is a guess. there is a firmware update for the sony. has your one got the update? see it here https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/home-video-dvd-players-recorders/rdr-hxd870/downloads/Z0005568 *** please be aware that you need to be good with creating the cd for the upgrade and it could if done badly, render your device useless. so only do it if it needs it. ** I am not saying it will fix the issue but the reason for the update seems IMPORTANT! and sounds like a possible reason.

Tv speakers

Sounds like you have a home theatre system, and you need to run rca cables from audio out of the tv to audio in on the amp, and turn the speakers off in the tv menu and set audio out to fixed or turn tv volume up all the way to get enough audio siginal.
