I had same problem. higher end toilets use specialised parts, and the regular parts at the hardware stores usally fit only regular cheap toilets. i would recommend trying to get the original part from manufacturer, or plumbing only supply store

Water runs in the toilet off and on continually?

Either the bottom outlet washer or the inlet valve washer needs replacing. It is a common condition, and if unsure, call a handyman in. An expensive plumber should not be needed.

Toilet does not have good flush

The power of the flush has nothing to do with the fill valve. It has to do with the flapper. When the flapper is opened, the surge of water into the bowl is what causes the toilet to flush. If the flapper closes too quickly, it will take away from the powerful flush. Try to find the correct flapper for that type of toilet and stay away from the "universal" flappers.

The toilet has been leaking slowly and it's trying to fill us every few mins, seems like the flapper or the seal is leaking. How do I know which one?

hold the flapper down and see if it stops leaking but it is almost positively the flapper. turn the water off, remove the old flapper, adjust the chain on the new flapper to the length of the old flapper, wipe the port area where the flapper seals to remove residue, install new flapper.

I have a 1 year old toilet. The water level drops and fills about every 3 hours. What do I need to do to fix? Thanks. specialeight@aol.com

You probably need to replace the flapper valve in toilet tank. This is the valve that sets in the bottom of the tank and is connected to the flush handle that you push to flush toilet. Look at the flapper and try to find one to match it at the hardware store before you try to replace it. To replace most flappers you should shut off water to toilet and remove tank lid, Disconnect chain from flush handle and remove flapper from overflow tube. Install new flapper. Adjust chain so that there is about two links loose when flapper is closed. Before you turn water check seating surface for any rough spots or scale deposits. If there are any then smoot them out with fine sand paper. Turn water back and check for proper operation. Adjust chain length as needed. Hope this helps you. Thanks.

I have a kohler one pease model K-3434 I Have replaced all parts kohler parts the problem i had before was the flapper was not sealing properly after replacing all parts i still have the same problem...

Try cleaning the surface of the drain hole where the flapper fits. There might be crud causing it to not seal. Sometimes the flapper itself is not large enough (or too large) to properly fit the hole. If no good you might try weighting the flapper. Not easy to do. You'll have to pull the flapper, dry it completely find the right adhesive place the weight just right. And hope that works. Good Luck...

My Eljer toilet does not always flush completely. It is approximately 20 years old. I don't believe that it is a venting problem. I have dismounted, inspected and remounted the toilet and found nothing...

Not being a plumber by trade I don't want to bad mouth what your plumber had to say but there may be other things to consider.
If the toilet does not flush directly into the main drain there is the possibilty that the coupling between the main drain and the toilet drain is under-sized which could cause reduced water flow and your toilet not flushing completely.

Slow water leak past flapper seal.

Replace flapper, it is worn out.Turn off water valve. Flush toilet, remove flapper. Then replace flapper, adjust chain to same size as old one, then turn water back on.
