Double check your wires aren't shorting out or power or remote wires aren't grounding. check if speakers are blown with nine volt battery

Tc 8001 red light

on some amps there is a duel light. red and green usually. red means it is in protect mode or you didn't hook up your remote wire. if in protect mode, it could mean a number of things. did you hook it up with speakers and everything?

I have a sony deck with a 200 terminatorand 2 legacy 12" subs. i hook everything up an when i hook up the remote wire the light turns from green to red an it whistles the subs **** up.

Your giving a wrong load / Ohms impediance to your amplifier.
What are the specifications of your subwoofer? Is it SVC 4ohms or DVC 4ohms or DVC 2ohms? Whats the specs of your amplifier?

My subs/amp are not working

when you car is running, it charges the battery somewhat. So the voltage problem is not a problem. The red light means the amp is going into ''Protect Mode". This usually happens when something is wrong with the amp. Usually the amp is getting hot. Check all of you connectiong and check the final impedance of the subs. Make sure the amp can handle the impedance of the subs. If you need anymore help, message me.

My red light on my amp is on and wont go out

Unfortunately I think you need to get it repaired or replaced .When a protection light will not turn off it is generally caused by an internal short and needs one or more replacement parts for it to come alive again.

Nope it's not a high-to-low level converter problem, it's most likely a problem with one of two things. 1) either you've blown the output stage in the amplifier, or 2) you've hooked up your subs wrong and your amp is seeing to low of an impedance. The amp is supposed to be 1ohm stable, but we had the same problem. When the indicator light goes red it means that the amp has gone into protection mode, now you have to figure out why. If something in the amp goes bad or just disconnects from the board it will cause power protection mode. If you fry something on the board because you are running the amp to hard or at the wrong impedance it will go into thermal protection mode, however there's no simple way to figure out which has happened.

Have you tried hooking up some different subs to see if the problem remains? try this. If the problem no longer happens then you know it's your subs, if it does still happen then you'll know it's an internal problem.

Years ago I had a Kenwood KAC-821; long story short, I melted the main power wire right off of the board, everytime I turned the system up the amp would shut down.

Take you amp to an authorized dealer and have them bench test it for you.

Let me know what you find out.

I have a dub 4001 amp

Take it step wise.

Unplug the inputs and outputs from the amp (be sure to mark the wires so you can hook them back up), leaving only the ground, +12, and remote wire hooked up. Now, turn it on. If the amp light goes red, the amp is broken. If it goes green, turn if off, plug in the speakers, then turn it on. if it's red, its a speaker problem, if green, do the same with the inputs, and you'll have your answer.

hi, your amp seems to be getting power but the cables might be wrong so it's not getting enough power. the light on the amp should be green if everything is going well. are you sure the cables are suitable for your amp?

Amp not working

1. Did you witness this amp ever working if not then you may have a blown amp. Hook up the speakers, get a portable player with a head phone jack get one of those cables with a headphone plug on one end and RCA's on the other plug the portable player into the amp and hit play. If sound comes out then your problems are elsewhere. If not I'm afraid your amp is probably toast. If the OHM rating of the speakers are too low for the amp then the amp will go into protect. This will be indicated by the protect LED lighting up or the power led changing color from say green to red.
