Re: why its working with some ISP's and does not work...

ISP's have different requirements for connecting a router to their hardware. One required me to enter a static IP address, another requires acceptance of a dymanic IP address and a third uses dynamic IP addresses and requires a PPPoE logon from the router and a configuration change to their modem to switch it to a bridge, and a fourth I have read about require a reboot of their modem device to recognise changes in the MAC address (assigned to the network adapter) of the attached device (router). I am sure these are not all the variations possible, Requirements for router connections specifically the WAN side of the router are specific to your ISP. Often in their help or support areas they either have FAQ's or help pages to explain the requirements or an online technician available through chat who can tell you what is required. Often however it is up to you to be able to perform then necessary configuration tasks (especially on you hardware) to make this happen. I may be able to provide assistance of you identify you internet provider including local provider companies and geographic location (city / State) in some cases to determine their policies and requirements for attaching routers to their equipment.

My girlfiend is the primary account holder on her internet account she is connected to the internet with her modem and lkinskys router i have my computer and cnet 914 broadband router how do i connect...

If you are trying to connect to her internet connection, you use her router.
You cant connect 2 routers to one modem, unless you set one up as a repeater.
Just ask her for the wifi password, and connect through her router

I can't set up a second Xbox to our router whith a "open nat setting" The first xbox is fine , but the second one is not. We can play online together, but it limits our playing capacity when we use both...

Strict does not give the ISP capicity band width Nat status should always be open in order to connect both the Xbox, also check the ports TCP 80 • UDP 88 • UDP 3074 • TCP 3074 • UDP 53 • TCP 53 this port should be open.

My Cnet CNIG-914 router doesn't give internet connection

There are several possible problems. Do you receive an IP address from the router? To find out, open the command prompt (Start > Run, type in command , and at the prompt enter (without quotes) "ipconfig".

If you have an IP address, try unplugging the router and your modem for 2 minutes. Power on the modem first, and wait for alll lights to stop their startup flashing and testing pattern (1-2 minutes is usually good), then plug the router in.

If you do not recieve an IP address (if your IP address is 169.x.x.x that is most likely the case) then the router is not giving you one. reset it to factory defaults, and follow the instructions to set it up again.

Try those and let us know how it works out for you.

Linksis router wont work help me out

First of all contact your isp and get your connection settings. If you are able to setup the router using the cd provided then good. If you are still having problems then go ahead and contact linksys (remember linksys charges for the support). I suggest get a technician to assist you in setting up.

No broadband connection

If your Not getting a SOLID dsl light this means that your user sessions are not being varified via the Radius servers at the ISP. Before giving up all hope and just abandoning the poor thing Just make sure that the Username and Password you are using for the Sync at the ISP are correct. Even ask the ISP for a Test account If this still doesnt work Try another router Say your friends one in your House if that Does work then it is Most proberly a Router Fault if it doesnt Then get on to your ISP and give them an Ear full ok.

Cnet broadband cnig-914

Can you log into the Hub at the IP when it is connected to the computer and the internet connection? Perhaps it is just a configuration issue. is the link to the manual to setup your router. Without further information about your network and its configuration I can't give more specific information. If you will please post any specifics about your configuration I can hopefully assist further. Please tell me how many computers there are, how many are directly connected to the router and how many are wirelessly trying to connect. Another suggestion is check your boot up order. Often times you have to unplug everything, then plug in the internet router, give it time to full boot up and have all lights on, then plug in the additional router (in this case I am assuming that it would be the CNet Cnig914), again allowing all the lights to come on, then plug in or turn on any pc that is connected directly to the router, followed by any computer that is wireless. This allows each system to be assigned the IP address and recognize the previous equipment. Once it gets an IP and everything is working you shouldn't have to repeat this process.
