The tank should come down until it touches the bowl. You tighten one side a bit and then the other to bring it down evenly. You have to be looking in between the two as you tighten.

I the toilet touching the floor on one side? Do you own a level? If the toilet is touching on one side, and the toilet is level, (with the other side not touching), loosen the side that is not touching and put shims under and retighten. Do not overtighten as it is only porcelain and will crack the toilet. Good luck!

Squeaky toilet

As the water in the tank reaches the full mark, the valve that shuts the water off begins to close. As it closes, less and less water is allowed to go past the valve. When the tank is at the full mark, the water is shut off completely. It's like letting air out of balloon. The smaller the opening, the louder the squeal. You may need to replace the float and valve set or some how lower the water pressure at the toilet.

I had the same issue wit my champion toilet the issue was finally resolved by using a plastic drain snake and cleaning out the flush tube at bottom of drain (1" hole at bottom of drain facing toward front of toilet) mine was restricted down to 1/2" "bad casting I think"

Relace flush valve seal

The American Standard Cadet 3 flowise one piece toilet uses a flapper valve with a soft nylon washer to seal against the water outlet.
Over time this nylon washer develops 'puckers' causing water to seep between the nylon washer and the seat of the flapper. This seepage causes the water level in the tank to drop to a point where the water inlet valve opens to replace the lost water in the tank.
There are two ways to correct this problem:
1. Replace the soft nylon washer on the flapper, or
2. Replace the entire flapper valve.
Hope this solution helps.

The tank wiggles/shakes doesnt seem secure. I am worried if I crank down on the bolts the tank will crack. Also my ceramic floor is not quit even there is a crunching noice when you set on the toilet....

you are correct if you overtighten the bolts the tank will crack.
They make rubber spacers that go between the tank and the stool, that can be put in to help the part of rocking or wiggly, try that.

with your toliet making a crunching noise on the tile, my first question is does the toliet rock at all? i would try and tighten the bolts on the base or the next step would be to pull the toliet and put a new wax ring then tighten it down. It makes a crunching sound because part of it is hitting the tile so makes sure it tight to the floor

The flap will not stay up to allow the recommended 80 of the water to drain from the tank unless I hold the handle down. I have tried shorting the chain and increasing the water level. Nothing works!!!...

This toilet is a Water Sense toilet and it only uses 1.28 gallons per flush and no more. The tank is never going to completely drain with this low flush toilet. It is designed that way. Make sure the tank is filling to the fill mark inside the tank. If not adjust the fill valve until it does. Federal law says that a toilet can use no more than 1.6 gallons per flush. If you can take this toilet back and get a refund I suggest you do so and buy a Toto toilet. They are the best flushing toilet on the market. After depressing the flush lever the flapper closes to quickly

The flapper is designed to close quickly. It holds more water in the tank then it uses to flush. That way it is ready to flush again quickly.
If it is not removing all the contents then there may be an issue with venting or blockage in the pipe.

How much draw down (tightening) do use to attach the water tank to the toilet bowl on a American Standard Flowise Cadet 3 toilet? Does the tank need to meet the bowl?

Seat the tank well on a new wax ring and then tightnen the two bolts on the sides evenly there is a small amount of pressure but thats it. To much and you'll snap the side of the bowl. You can caulk around the edge if you want more security, less movement.

The tension on the nuts is very tricky just a feel kinda thing.

Be carefull not to over do it.

I'm helping with my sister's toilet. The tank is

The tank gasket is a large one, and it appears oversized, but this is the right size. It is held in place by bolts that pass from the tank into the back flanged portion of the base, behind the seat. If it is wobbly, you can try to tighten the bolts, but usually the best course is to replace the bolts and gasket as a unit. The replacement parts are sold as a set, and are available at any hardware store. When installing, keep the tank level, and do not overtighten, but try for equally snug.
