Re: fault

Is it a DLP, LCD, Plasma? If its a DLP it could be the light engine. Let me know what type of tv it is and we may be able to get you taken care of.

How to adjust picture to remove blue background? Older lg. Very bluey.

With a projection television, it is normally a sign of the lamp failing and oxidising inside.

Take a look at widescreen LED HD televisions. Technology has moved on. We have one at work 80 feet long by 30 feet high!

I replaced lamp on my toshiba 50hm66 tv and now i got a black and white picture

As it is a DLP projection TV, there will be a colour wheel to filter colur. If the whell does not spins at all, or spins out of synchronisation, there will be no colour to the picture. Just check the clour wheel. If needy, replace it. Clean it with cleaning solution. If you don't have eneough knoledge in alaigning the colour wheel, just get help fro an expecienced service technician. There is an RPM [Rotation Per Minute] counter to count the number of rotation of the colour wheel. If this sensor has some fault with, the colour wheel won't syncronise to its original speed what it should be, resulting out of colour picture. OK.

Calapsed picture frame

Hi there,

This can only be a bad soldered on the video module, its better to check for any bad soldered and for any fault on the resistor on the video output module.

Hope this initial info / idea helps.

Please Accept my solution if I solved the issue.

Blurry picture

If the power to the tv was on when the power came back on it may have caused a power surge through the tv and could have knocked the allinment of the colour tubes out a bit you could try to reallin them via small screws on the colour tubes but you need the tv on an it can be difficult.

It could not be the playstation that would cause the fault. The set was probably going to fail anyways.

A brown casted picture sounds like there is a loss of the blue colour drive in the set.

Some TV sets have colour temperature adjustments in the user menu. Check to see if your TV has that option, and that the colour temperature is properly set up. You can refer to the TV's instruction booklet for details.

A loss of blue drive can be from failed components in the video path, or in the bias circuits that control the CRT's cathold current.

It is also possible that the CRT is going defective, and is losing emission from the blue colour electron-gun.

You will have to bring the set to a service center that has an experienced TV tech who can make proper diagnostics, and give you an estimate for the cost of repair.
