Check for any air leaks within the unit's door and seal area. See if you notice any blockages in the damper door or switch that is between the two doors. Then contact a professional.

We purchased a new KitchenAid Side by Side Refrigerator Model # KSRG25FVBL01 that makes a loud knocking noise accompanied by rattling from the date we purchsed. We are getting runaround in getting it fixed...

The knocking noises heard from the Freon moving through the sealed system are perfectly normal and usually do not last long. Since the evaporator coil is mounted in the freezer section, the noise is usually louder there. Some people say it sounds like marbles knocking together.
Refrigerant (Freon) moving through the system can cause a vibration/rattling, especially as the compressor first starts up.
  1. Vibrating from top of cabinet Remove, rearrange or pad any stored items atop the refrigerator such as houseplants, coins, pens, etc.
  2. Vibrating from back or sides of refrigerator Move refrigerator away from water line in the rear or away from walls / cabinets along the side of the cabinet. Refrigerators with a static condenser on the back require a rear clearance of 3 inches across the top of the condenser.
  3. Vibrating from the bottom of refrigerator Level refrigerator so all 4 rollers / feet rest solidly on the floor.
    Hope this works.....

Water collecting in bottom of refrigerator? where does it come from? How do you stop it? We have a Kitchenaide superba freezer over refrigerator 21.5 cubic feet total.

most common cause is condensation(fridges are not frost free).check door seals and that the kids have shut the door asap.also make sure you use a spirit level to square up the unt so that the door seals are tight allround....lastly,cover all food and put kitchen paper under salad/fruit drawer to catch water droplets(condensation)

Water dripping into the refrigerator

Sounds very common. Without seeing your refrigerator I can only imagine that you have a drain pan leak below refrigerator, defrost condensate drain line loose or missing the drain pan, frozen over drain opening inside rear wall of freezer or the defrost condensate line is blocked somewhere along its route to the condensate collection tray below refrigerator. I am not finished so plaes don't rate me until I complete. Sea Breeze

Condensation at top of inside refrigerator

you have a drain hose from the top back of the freezer down to the condensate pan on the bottom of the refrigerator near the floor
this hose is blocked causing ice to build up behind the rear inner wall.
remove the back of the freezer wall and using a funnel pour hot water in to the hose to clear the condensate hose also remove all the ice behind the wall; remove the back cardboard to see the water come through the hose into the condensate tray when you pour the water it should pour right through if it's clear

Water leaks from underneath

Make sure your drainage tube is not plugged.
Check inside the back of your fridge to make sure the little cup that collects condensation from your freezer compartment is not plugged with food or ice.
(I had that happen in my fridge, different model). I had lots of water on the floor of the fridge until I found this solution here on fix-ya.
Also, make sure your fridge is set right for the the humidity levels you have may experience.
Get a hold of the manual for your fridge if you don't have it, and make sure freezer is not too cold.
If you have a lot of condensation on the outside of your door, look inside your freezer and try some different settings.
I'm not sure if this helps at all. Try blowing with a blow dryer on your condensation container area on the inside of the fridge.
I'd love to know if this helped.

Condensation on the outside freezer area

condensation occurs on a surface which is colder than its surroundings.

The worst thing is the insulaion in the cabinet is water/ice logged. This would require removing the insulation and refoaming the cabinet.

You may be able to feel if the surface is cold.

I have seen a frig with voids in the insulation cause this problem- same cure- refoam.

Water running from under fridge. all water lines off

Condensate pan is gunked up and no where for condensate to collect. Clean the pan on top of the compressor and make sure there is no gunk or dirt collected there.
