Question about HP Pavilion a430n PC Desktop
The network card also know as a "NIC" is installed inside the PC.
You can change it by purchasing a new one.
Unplug the electrical plug before removing the cover of the PC.
Locate the NIC by following the Cable from the DSL modem, that is the card you want to replace.
Unplug the Cable from the modem, remove the screw located top back of card.
Pull up gently on the card to remove it from the slot and replace with the new one. You may have apply gentle downward force to seat the card.
Plug back in the Cable to the modem, replace cover, plug back in the Electrical supply and start up the computer. The system should atomatically find the card and install the drivers for it.

Okay, if you have a bad network adapter that means that the adapter on your computer is bad. Most adapters are PCI or Peripheral Component Interconnect, so replacing it requires you to open your computer case up. Now replacing it Can either be done by buying the part, and an ESD or Electrostatic Discharge Bracelet and you could replace it yourself, but another way you could do it is to go to your local computer store and see how much it will cost to replace it (keep in mind IT guys are very expensive). Then there is one final option, you can get a USB or Universal Serial Bus Port Ethernet adapter (I am assuming that you are using ethernet) then you won't need to open the case, just plug the new one in to the exterior of the computer.
Tell me what you would like to do and I can either assist you in walking through it, or give some suggestions as to what to do.
Hope this Helps,
