Question about Philips 200WB7 (Silver) Monitor
I have this exact problem - although I did not experience a recovery yet. Mine is exactly the same age. It just stopped working yesterday, although the green led on the power button stays green, and the video card still sees it, even after doing "Detect Displays" (I am on a Mac Pro). I can still move windows to it. It must be working still, except for the backlight. I went through the same cable replacements and power cable changes.
It sounds like the inverter is out on the power supply for the backlights. If you can open the monitor and take a few pictures of the boards and send them to email@example.com I will try to cross reference the boards and give you a repair solution.
