Re: I.P Adress

Your ip is provided by your ISP (internet service provider), if you have two accounts (two modems) then you probably have two ip numbers and if you use one account, even you have ten computers connected to the same modem, will be the same ip but shared.

hope it helps.

My kin-1200 ap doesn't charge the battery properly.

The reason for this is that the UPS, is unable to efficiently charge those BIG batteries, you see they generally only charge at a low rate, anyway, of say 10% - 15% capacity, of the-battery-usually-charged. Now with these BIG 40 Amperes by 2, well, there simply isn't enough "Juice" to charge them up... (Oh it might do in a month or so)... from that UPS's Charging Circuit. You will most likely have to rig up some other higher rate charger for those BIG batteries. OR modify the charging circuit IN the UPS. They need to be charged at about 1 Amp or maybe more. See it is simply Charge over Time... 40 amps at 1 Amp will take 40 hours.. 40A at 2A = 20H & so on. If only 1/2 flat 2A over 10hours.

Power inverter installation?? (Vector 2500W in Tacoma truck)

Don, There are two ways in which I would have satisfyied the 6 foot guide line. 1. Mounted the VECTOR under the hood. 2. Supplied the VECTOR with additional "bed mounted" battery to be charged via the present wiring with a two pole single throw "knife switch" as as the "connect/disconnect to the vehicle battery/alternator for charging the new battery. In any case, you should make it a twice yearly thing to inspect the 15 feet of wire now installed, for wear and tear faults that could result in sparks, smoke, fire. You may need to visit local electrical supply house to see what they have to offer in the way of small "breaker-boxes" that may be capable of handling such large GAGE wire. I MEAN #2 gage wire IS very thick and expensive per foot!!!! A disconnect box similar to type found mounted to brick-work and next to and connecting a 1.5 to 2 ton central air unit might do the trick. But anyhow, if you are not going to use the VECTOR disconnect the POSITIVE lead at the battery and tape the connector with electrical tape to be safe. Let me know how it works out for you. lmistyrel@ 12fixlouie

Unit does not back-up (stay on-line at all) when power goes out.

If the battery is over 3 years old then it most likely needs to be replaced. Since it works fine except for when it is relying on power from the battery, then a new battery should make it just like new. should have the battery you need. Hope that helps.

Ethernet card

hi there. The ethernet card is an interface that allows your computer to be connected to a LAN (Local area network) and to a Cable/Dsl modem to be on the internet. The connector looks bigger than the one of a regular telephone jack (it's actually double). If you don't have the ethernet card you can't go on the internet or on a LAN.
From the back of the modem or router you should connect a cable to your ethernet card of yor computer. Only after you did that you can try to connect to the internet.
Let me know, or be more specific.

CyberPower 800 AVR

Hi. I've had one since 2003 no problems. Then suddenly I come home and the power had temp gone out, come back on and the tone is constant. I hit the button, on and off. powers, then off, a couple of beeps. Nothing improved it.

I read online...the back up battery eventually wears out and can be replaced! This will happen will all units, it's normal. No biggie and less expensive than a new unit. I haven't replaced mine yet as this all coincided with a new computer purchase and I was planning on getting at least one more unit anyway, so I've just grabbed a 825 off the shelf. I'll figure out ordering a replacement battery as I have time, and perhaps order a couple of smaller units for some other applications in the house.

One of these units is cheaper than the deductible on insurance, and I've had lighting just going overhead take out 2 tv's and such in different houses, 3 different events totalling thousands. My cyberpower protected the tower and computer I'm using now, but others in the house, router, etc were destroyed. You can't risk getting those hits on your insurance if you can help it. If only I'd had one hooked up to the garage door opener, lol. $61 would have saved me $500.
