If it pops up then the sensor is working and the mechanical parts are working,

Next is manual force flash test, if is manually flashes, the bulb is good else replace the bulb.

My nikon D60 and the pop up flash dosent work

the flash pivot on the release side of the flash has a small cylinder that operates the flash up switch. If that cylinder is broken off or the pivot is pushed in so the switch doesn't close, then what you describe happens

pop up the flash and remove the two screws underneath, and you can pry off the cover - gently - to check the switch

Dropped my Nikon D60 on concrete and now it is taking dark photos! I reset it to manufacture settings but still taking dark photos even outside in the middle of the day. Any suggestions on what it could...

This is not a do it yourself project. Call the Nikon Service Department at 1-800-NIKON-US (1-800-645-6687) 9AM-8PM EST, Monday to Friday. They will tell you how to return your camera for repair and will provide you with an estimate of charges.

Even if I could tell you what you broke without looking at your camera, which I cannot, you would not be able to do the repair yourself. Call the Nikon Service Department at 1-800-NIKON-US (1-800-645-6687) 9AM-8PM EST, Monday to Friday. They will tell you how to proceed to get a repair estimate.

What setting should the camera be on for an

That depends on the flash. If it's CLS-compatible (Nikon SB-400, SB-600, SB-800, and SB-900) you can use it in any exposure mode (except flash off, of course). The easiest flash mode is Auto-TTL, though some of the other modes will give you better control under certain situations.

If it's not CLS-compatible, then you'll have to take it off Auto-TTL. If the flash has a sensor, you can let the flash control itself (assuming it's at the same distance from the subject as the camera). Otherwise you'll have to go manual.

What is night mode on a Nikon d60. How do I turn it on and off?

Night mode?

Do you mean Night Portrait mode? Select it by turning the mode dial to the appropriate icon, deselect it by turning the mode dial to some other mode.

Do you mean flash? It pops up automatically in the point&shoot modes (except for Sports, Landscape, and NoFlash). You have to pop it up in PSAM modes.

Nikon D60 is suddenly taking very dark pictures

I have had "dark pictures" from each of my Nikon DSLR (D70, D80, D200, D300) cameras usually when taking pictures from a tripod and/or the self timer. Situations where you take your eye away from the viewfinder which allows stray light to enter thru the viewfinder and throw the auto exposure way off. Not sure if this is what is happening to you.

Using a vivitar 2800 flash on a nikon d60

The old series Vivitar 2800 flashgun has a very high trigger Voltage, that can damage your D60's circuitry. Even measuring the trigger voltage with a voltmeter is not a solution since you can't rely on the voltmeter to indicate the peak voltage.
