If it it is tripping the circuit breaker when filling , then the problem is localized to following parts:
Inlet Valve.
Wiring Harness to Inlet Valve.
Water Level switch.
Timer control Board.
After disconnecting power the parts can be checked looking for trace of shorts , blown capacitors on timer board , or burnt areas.
Replacement parts can be purchased from Miele, ringing the number printed on the owner manual.
Regards.
Replace the water valve solenoid
It must have had an electrical issue/ problem that was why the former user sold it off.
consult a service centre around you or return back to store with all complaints.
Sorry about that.

As the machine trips the circuit breaker only when it tries to fill with water, is it possible that the problem is a solenoid?
This dishwasher is all mechanical (no microprocessors). The solenoid is right close to the tap (not in the machine as with many models), so there is electrical wiring that runs along the hose to the tap.
It is my understanding that the circuit breaker would trip not because of the extra current used (although this could cause it to trip) but because the current is leaking to the ground.
Hi mate
It does seem like the obvious solution. Is there any way that I can check whether it is that? I'm pretty handy with a multimeter.
Cheers
John
How can I check whether it is the solenoid that is faulty?
Many thanks. I've now got clear steps to take. Greatly appreciated. Cheers. John
