Question about Gigabyte GA-8PE667 Ultra Motherboard

Upgrade to 3GB in laptop?

I have 2 RAM slots in my Acer Extensa. Right now there is a 1GB DDR2 memory stick in each. Since 32bit Windows only supports 3GB can I just replace one of the 1GB sticks with one 2GB stick or does the ram have to be a matched pair?

Yes you can install 1GB in one slot and 2GB in other slot. but you have to make sure that the RAMs must have the same BUS speed.

I have Acer laptop Aspire 5570z module Zr1 with memory 1GB I want to increase memory 2GB or 3GB Is it possible or not What will be the expenditure?

Your laptop's RAM is upgradeable to up to 4 GB using two DDR2 533/667 MHz SODIMM modules.

So your upgrade options here are:
1. Buy a 1 GB DDR2 533/667 MHz SODIMM module & install it to get a total RAM of 2 GB (Price around US$ 25).
2. Buy a 2 GB DDR2 533/667 MHz SODIMM module & install it to get a total RAM of 3 GB (Price around US$ 45).

Problem with upgrading my acer extensa 5620z memory to 4GB

Hi there.
I recommend you get another stick of SODIMM to replace what seems to be the faulty stick.
If you are using XP or Vista X86 (32bit) then the system will only recognize 2.8 - 3GB of memory, only 64bit operating systems recognize the full 4GB.

Can't Find 2nd ram to upgrade memory

Sometimes Laptops will have 1 slot internal and 1 slot on the bottom side thats readily accessible via a removable plate.

You'll be perfectly find with the 1GB internal and adding the 2GB to replace the 1GB stick on the bottom side.
Also Windows XP and VISTA 32bit can only address and use about 3.25GB of ram anyway.

Recently Microsoft released a patch that's kind of tricking consumers, People calling and complaining so much to MS and PC manufacturers about not seeing all their ram when they installed 4GB so they Released a fix that shows it as 4GB but still the 32bit OS cant use the extra over 3GB

what the max ram is for this laptop? I bought 2x2GB dual channel ram for it and windows vista home premium (32bit) only recognizes upto 2GB, but CPU-Z recognizes more than that.

Memory upgrade for Acer Aspire 3680

Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 1GB per slot so you can install modules one at a time, and you can mix different densities of modules in your computer. But if your computer supports dual-channel memory configurations, you should install in identical pairs (preferably in kits) for optimal performance How much memory your Windows OS will recognize depends on which version of Windows you are running. 32-bit versions of Windows will see (and utilize) only 3GB or 3.5GB. To utilize more memory, install a 64-bit version of your OS hope this helps pls appreciate by rating as fixyaa.thanks and Godbless.

What kind of ram?

just look for notebook memory type ddr2, ddr2 all have the same amout of pins, you will have to remove one of the sticks of ram and replace with a 1GB or remove both and fit 2 x 1GB sticks.
