Question about Cell Phones

We have a Tevion Symphony G15 twin phone set and cannot get a dial tone.It was working perfectly prior to this.I have trie setting it back to its default mode but nothing.The BT line is working as our broadband connection is fine.Other than neithermaking calls or receiving them the handsets appear to be working ok. Any suggestions?

    It is not a cell phone. It is a base station with two handsets. It shares the same landline with our broadband. Both were working fine until the other day when we found we could neither receive or make telephone calls. The internet connection is the one with which I am emailing you. I think the problem lies either in the base station or the handsets.

Need clarification! You have a regular hard phone line and a new phone line that is using a cable modem for dialing?? And since the broadband has been installed you no longer have the regular land line dialtone?? If so a couple of things. Did you port your phone # to the new carrier (have the same phone # now on broadband?) if so it will kill your other phone because you can only have the same # with one carrier. If you kept your old # and just installed a new # with broadband then its quite possible the new phone company didn't know you still had another active line and cut the lines to install theirs, you need to notify them in advance if you have 2 lines from 2 companies. If this is the case you need to contact them so they can come back out and run their own lines (should not cost anything). If you call your original phone company they may charge you a maintenence fee...

    Right, I didn't say cell (land line/hard line). If you having problems calling/receiving the first step is to contact the phone company. Do you have a standard corded phone laying around to test the lines? Also make sure the cables didn't get unplugged. The thing with broadband phones is they don't plug directly into the wall outlet but into the black box with flashing lights and goes though the cable line for your phone (use to work for Comcast). Make sure that's plugged in correctly if so try resetting the modem first and if still nothing you need to contact the phone service provider, ther're usually some things they can do over the phone before sending out a tech...

Phone not working

Hi Pam,
Try these..1...remove your telephone line from base unit and fix it into a working land phone and check whether is it having normal dial tone.If it's having engage tone(beep beep...)remove paralleled phones and re connect to cordless base unit.
2.If line is ok (normal dial tone with full volume) & still display indicates line is busy, your main base unit must be having faulty components inside.Commonly these defects happen in thundering or surges through telephone lines.You have to take full set to a repair shop.

Bell Studio 4500 DECT phone with answering machine: just out of warranty, this phone does everything properly up to entering a number, then dialling, BUT not producing a ringing-tone or getting through to...

I gather you have the setting for tone and pulse set to tone? Also are you aware the ringing tone is generated by the phone company? When you dial a number and it connects, the phone provider sends the ring signal to the dial phone and the ringing signal to the dialing phone. Do you get a dial tone before dialing?

is there network service bar on your phone?
if no,check the antenna of the phone if it is properly fix, if not fix properly, then fix it properly.
if the problem continue go to your phone menu, go to setting and call setting go to bare calls.
if the calls are bad, you deactivate it.
if this still continue then you contact your local service provider.

Need to change phone back to tone dialing

Here's what the manual says: Changing the Dial Mode (Tone or Pulse Dialing) (HS1 only) Your phone can communicate with the telephone network in two different ways: tone dialing or pulse dialing. These days, most phone networks use a method called tone dialing, so your phone comes programmed for tone dialing. If your phone company uses pulse dialing, you need to change your phone's dial mode. If you don't get a dial tone or can't connect to the telephone network, follow the steps below to modify your phone?s settings: With the phone in standby, press and hold [cid/menu]. Press [vol/ / ] to move the pointer to select DIAL. Press [select/channel] to set the phone to pulse dialing. Press [end]. Return the handset to the base. The handset communicates the new setting to the base, and the base activates the setting on any other handsets. Hope this helps out. K
