Question about Computers & Internet

I am trying to install a software cd and keep getting the blue screen of death with error Bad_Pool_Header. I'm on Windows XP, SP3. I contacted the software manufacturer who recommends I remove Norton 360 which I really don't want to do. Any ideas as to what this error may be and how to resolve?

Actually tried the fix that was posted to Tweek before I posted here - that didn't work. Going to give the Norton uninstall a try now. Thanks for your help.

It might be necessary to remove your antivirus. Any way you can renistall your antivirus after your installation is complete. Do this if you trust the software provider

Hi marie6205

Have you try to run chkdsk : you find it on "My computer- (highlight C:)- choose properties- coose the second tab- and choose the first feature (this will repair your hard drive for errors)- choose to check all the possibilties.- press OK and press ok to restart the computer. Now it search for bad files and other fails in the hard disc.

Another solution if you would try to listen to what your manufacturer says is to reinstall norton. Simply uninstall Norton, reboot and reinstall.

You can use revounistaller to remove Norton :

Just use default settings and delete all it suggest
