[Solved]HP-PSC750 "Remove and check color cartridge"

This might probably the solution for a known problem on HP PSC750. I got the same problem as many other users : this message keeps coming whatever cartrigde you are replacing, altough in accordance the instructions. You might clean and clean again a dozen cartriges, the message keeps coming. THIS PROBLEM IS sticky almost at every occasion I changed a cartidge) Following solution works probably for all PSC750 units having same problem: (my notes are only assumptions, not verified technically) : 1. Power on the PSC750 2. Open lid and remove the color cartridge 3. Remove all cables 4. Most important : now be patient and WAIT ENOUGH TIME to allow printer to loose memory contents. Don't reconnect the cables Make a nice pot coffee and take your time. Ususally we make the false assumption that a full reset is made just by unplugging and replug the power cable. But this quick reset does not allow enough time for memory to clear. How much time is required remains an open question. But the longer you wait, the better chances are to get rid of this stupid annoying message. 5. Close the lid and reconnect power cable (USB cable also or maybe better ...eventually later on) 6. Powerup PSC750 and wait for inititializating to complete 7. You will get (at last) the NORMAL message that asks for a color cartrigde (since there is none) 8. Put a color cartridge into printer in the usal way. Even with the last cartridge that you tried to use on your previous attempt (being considered as to be checked), the PSC750 will now accept it. 9. Terminate as usual with printing the alignment page and head alignment. Hope this helps

What's your problem? hp psc750 shows warming up only? not printing


Disconnect the power cord and connect it back to printer ( printer should be powered on ). If this does not fix the issue, Remove the Cartridges and clean the contacts ( electrical/golden contacts ) on the cartridge with lint free cloth. Wait for 20 seconds and reinstall the cartridge. If none of these above solutions work, it could be mechanical defect and need replacement. Call HP Support on 1-800-474-6836 and check if they have better offer for your defective printer.

When i turn the printer on it says ink cartridge problem.remove and check color cartridge.message won't go off

You might have solved this issue by now, but same thing happened to me and I simply removed the cartridges and any of the leftover orange debris on each indivdual ink cartridge from those removable tabs might cause your issue. I scraped it off and the first time I reinserted the cartridges the issue was solved

My HP C4150 is displaying "remove and check color cartage" it wont do anything until i open the entrance to the ink well... and after i do and i take it out, nothing happens

The color cartridge probably is defective the printer won't recognize it. Оften happens HP cartridge to overheat.Just replace the color cartridge with new one.

Psc750 alarm message: remove and check black cartridge.

There seems to be a problem with the cartridge. If it is printing normally, you can either live with the error, or replace the cartridge.

You can try cleaning the contacts with a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol just in case.

HP Deskjet 4280 does not print. 'E' error on Control panel button

I had the same problem. It was solved once I bought an original color cartridge. Refilled cartridge seems not to work on this printer. Glad if it might help.

Cannot locate ink catridge for HP PSC 750 printer

With power on, simply lift up from the hatch located on the front of the unit. The ink jet will slide to the middle position.

When I change the black ink cartridge, the alignment page and instruction page are printing out fine. When I place the alignment page on the glass as instructed and press 'ENTER', the printer gives a...

I just had the same issue (align page not detected).

We had just re-installed the empty color cartridge back into the printer (long story but basically we knew we could only print B/W).

The align page printout had a lot of empty spaces around the black lines. This is apparently where the color lines are supposed to print.

Without those color lines, the printer would not detect the align page as color is part of the alignment being done.

Since we only wanted black printouts, I pressed 'cancel' to stop the alignment process, and now we just hit the Black copy button and ignore the alignment prompt on the printer window.

The HP site (enter psc750 in product window) has some helpful ideas as to what the problem might also be. It could be the shipping tape is still on the new cartridge (and preventing the black or color from printing on the align sheets) etc.

Check if the cartridge was inserted correctly (right slot) (remove it and insert it again)
Check if the cartridge is original and the sticker was removed. Turn off your computer, and your printer. Start up your computer and after your printer. Try again.

If the problem continues, insert the old one cartridge (which was removed before) and see what happen...

If stop asking for install color cartridge, you have failure on your new cartridge
and need to be replaced.

HP G85 All says remove and check color cartridge and prints only green/blue color

This is a known issue on this machine. What I do is open the printer as if replacing the cartridge and allow the cartridge holder to move to the exchange position. Then I unplug the power cable from the back and close the printer again. Keeping your finger on the power button, plug in the power cable again. Keep the button pressed for about 10 seconds, allowing the error flag to reset. Switch on again and wait for the initialise to finsh. It sometimes takes another 5 minutes for the message to disappear but it should go eventually.
