I tried to fix it myself by cleaning the print cartridges and putting them back for several times but it still shows the same error mesage

How do I get my Lexmark X2600 to print? I got a message telling me that I would soon have to replace the black ink cartridge, and it just stopped printing. I put a new cartridge in, and it still will not...


Try to re-seat the cartridges into the printer. Remove both cartridges from the printer > re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds > when the printer printer turns on, firmly re-insert the cartridges into the printer. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.
You can also try to manually clean the cartridge nozzles. Wipe the cartridge print nozzles with a slightly moistened soft cloth to clean it from possible dirt and clogs. Re-insert the cartridges and try to print a document again.

Hp psc 2410 photosmart all-in-one printer suddenly started printing very slowly. The ink jet cartridges are new. I even tried replacing the cartridges and that didn't work either. I tried resetting...


Welcome to Fixya.

You can try the following to remedy this problem as I had experienced it myself and was able to resolve it through the following means :
  • Remove the top lid, unscrew the 5 screws, 2 on the left, 1 on the top (under the lid), and 2 more hidden under the grey board which can be remove with caution.
  • Once opened, clean up the glass with some special clean-up liquid and dry. Clean-up the white square also under the lid.
Put the pieces back together carefully and try printing out.

My hp officejet 5610xi all in one showing cartridge error-refer to device documentation to troubleshoot.i changed an new cartridge still showing the same message.please help me to solve this problem.


If you are not using a HP print cartridge, try pulling out the one you put in, clean the contacts in the print carriage, and put in a different print cartridge - even if it is the same brand as the brand new one you just took out. I just solved the same problem with this method. I think the new black cartridge from Office Depot was defective. Once I cleaned the contacts on the machine and put in a new one, it worked!

Printer will print pictures, but won't print documents.


Sometimes this happens because the ink dries in the print head. If multiple cleaning doesn't improve it you can try cleaning the print head itself with alcohol or an electronic spay can type cleaner. This should fix the problem for you. Also resetting the cartridges in the slots sometimes improves the ink flow.

Very Faint Printouts


I find the best way to clean the heads is buy some cleaning cartridges as they have cleaning fluid in them and use them to clean it will take about 10 or more times to clean the heads then put the color ones back in and try again.
Just keep putting it on clean the head don't do a print out till at lest you have cleaned 10 or more times.

Pink bars across all pictures in document. Have deep cleaned the printer several times as well as print head alignment. Even changed the magenta cartridge. What should I try next? Thanks, Carol


I had this problem too. I don't know exactly what fixed it but it's working fine now. I removed all the cartridges and then put them back in, and ran through the nozzle check & clean cycle a few times. Now it's printing beautifully.

It would print the Tap Test as instructed in this illustration....but then wouldn't move to print anything else. So redid the Tap Test several times....then I lifted the lid while printing a test page so the cartridge was in the center and I could get ahold of it to slide it....left the printer ON, but unplugged the power cable...and then I was able to move the cartridge back and forth. I then took QTips with Windex on them and cleaned the silver bar the cartridge moves on. Got a lot of ink off of it.
A couple more test prints...and sliding the cartridge......and it is finally running again.
