How to delete all my files and restore my acer 5336 aspire

Restoring from the Acer Aspire System Recovery partition is easy Most Aspires will have a second partition that can be used to restore if you do not have CD It is recommended that you make those CD when you first buy the laptop If you don t you run the risk of not being able to install Windows again if that second partition fails Restoring From The Acer Aspire System Recovery Partition Keep in mind that running the recovery will restore the computer to the way it was when you first brought it home Anything you added will be lost so make sure you have program disks passwords favorite websites photos, documents and anything else you need backed up before proceeding with the recovery of your Acer Aspire.Hard Disk Recovery should be enabled by default If it is not you may need to go into your system s BIOS by hitting F2 at boot and enable it under the Advanced tab Once Hard Disk Recovery is enabled, restart the system and hit ALT F10 This will begin restoring from the Aspire system recovery partition. You will be prompted to type six zeros as a security step Type 000000 to proceed You will then see a screen to select your Operating System. Do this and hit enter and the recovery process will begin You Cannot Use The Acer Aspire System Recovery Partition The process for restoring from the Acer Aspire System Recovery partition is similar with all major brand names The most important thing to remember is to always have backups of your data and take a few minutes to burn recovery DVDs using Acer s built in utility. Creating these backup DVD is vital If the hard drive fails you will not be able to perform a recovery from the Acer Aspire system recovery partition Create the media and store it in a safe place along with the rest of your software and computer documentation

I need to restore my acer aspire one series model ZG5 to original settings but nothing that I am finding online is helping :( Pressing alt f10 does nothing and when i do get a restore window, the only...

Well, in actual fact, there is no 'magic button' to restore a computer to it's original state. What has to be done is a fresh install of the operating system, wiping out the current contents of the hard disk. Hopefully your system came with a restore cd though sometimes the manufacturer just puts the restore data on a partition of your hard drive, and you have to restore from there, using a procedure they've (hopefully) documented. If you don't have either cd or restore partition, then be very careful just wiping your disk as you may end up having to buy a new operating system distribution disk,(expensive) then you have the grief of finding all the drivers to load plus the motherboard chipset drivers, and they can be a real pain to try and find. I need to reset my acer aspire 5520 to factory settings without recovery discs

Hi,

There is a recovery console on your HDD (Hard Disk Drive) this is a hidden partition on your HDD. If you power on your laptop and hold the ALT key and keep tapping the F10 key while it posts to the acer logo screen it will goto a black screen with a flashing cursor on the top left then stop tapping F10 and remove your finger from the ALT key, you will then see windows loading files. This will take you to the recovery console and from there you can select restore laptop to factory defaults or restore laptop retaining user data.

Hope this helps

Reboot to its factory settings

do you mean reload the operating system ?
if yes and if you didn't delete the recovery partition in your harddrive, you can press alt+f10 during boot, it will guide you to the reload operating system.

Reset

If you don't have the restore CD there is no way you can restore that model to factory settings. Some (most?) newer models have the restore information, including the Operating system and any other factory installed programs on a separate partition, allowing you to start up from that partition and restore your OS, etc. From that partition, but the 240 needs the restore disks.
Sorry for the bad news, but I hope this answered your question.
