Question about Philips 20DV6942 20 in. TV/DVD Combo
THE TV IS IN OUR ROOM AND HAS SURVIVED A BILLION STORMS BUT FOR SOME REASON, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS OFF, I CANT GET IT TO POWER ON NOW...I HAVE A FEELING IT MAY HAVE BLEW AN INTERNAL DEVICE BUT NOT SURE... ANY SUGGESTIONS???
Sets such as this still have power applied to stand-by circuits whenever it is plugged in. Try unplugging it for 5 min or so and then if normal operation does not return, ask around for a competent repair shop. With lightning or surges it can be either something "simple" to someone experienced (about $50 maybe) or well exceeding replacement cost. A power strip with surge protection is a good idea in the future, unplugging everything is better but not always practical.
