Can this computer be used in Australia without being damaged?

Most laptop can be used in any country.
Check the laptop's power adapter mains input voltage, it is on a label on the bottom of the adapter.
If the input voltage is 100 to 240 volts then it will work in Australia, you may need an mains adapter to connect to Australian 3 pin mains power point or purchase the mains cable that fits the Australian 3 pin mains power point.

My SNES console isn't lighting up today no power light at all then.

Well it might just be the fact that it has died on you then so you
could buy a new ac adapter to see if it makes a difference then.

The dc jack where you plug in the ac adaptor is worn out which is why it is chipping and also why you can't make a good enough connection for the ac adaptor so you can turn on the Super Nintendo.

What needs to happen is your SNES needs to have the old dc jack taken off and a new one soldered on.

If you can find another broken SNES that has a good working dc jack then take if off of that one and solder it onto yours and your SNES will work like new.

SNES Power Port

i found you can take a small flathead screwdriver like the tiny one you would repair eyeglasses with and carefully bend the prongs slightly inward.i assume this made then come in contact with the ground in the center of the power adapter.
