I had the same problem in a 1992 mercedes 300E.....several diagnostic tests were useless. After several trips to the dealer, they replaced the crankcase sensor. This seemed to solve the problem. Also, make sure your oil is good (old oil may cause the engine to overheat and trip a sensor?????)...when I changed the oil, my car ran cooler.

Why is it that after diving my 06 bmw 528i about 5 min cut car off it restartes drive again for about 15 min cut car off if I try to restart the car I have nothing no start but if I wait for half hour

Have the wiring to the starter checked and tightened. Seems as though the starter has become heat soaked, binds and does not start until it has cooled down..did you install it correctly replace any heat shield that may have been in place? Be sure you have the correct starter...Some will fit but if the torque if not correct it can put strain on the starter.

I have a 1997 BMW 525 tds when iturn the steering wheele it cut off

There is a short in your wiring harness under the plastic cover that surrounds your column. remove the cover crank the auto then wiggle all the wires there until you hit the sweet spot and it dies then look threw that area very well for loose or frayed wires loose connectors anything not normal. also follow your steering column to the floor board continuing the process you will find the problem.

BMW 523i - The Steering Wheel is locked, absolutely no movement & the normal jiggle doesn't work & I have no movemnt on the Key so unable to start. Any ideas?

Hi if this is an auto, sometimes if it is not in parck correctly or the pack saftey switch is not working correctly this will lock the wheel untill it is put in park , try moving the stick from p to n a few times that might get it to work, if it is a manual type transmission, normally a few sharp pull downs one way should free it, this will be the security system not releasing the stearing lock "bolt" also if that does not work, try removing the couling from arround the wheel, using a small hammer ( smaller the better, we are not trying to knock it into next week ) and a couple of small light taps near and arround the middle of the barrel while pulling on the wheel and turning key ( help will be required unless you have 3 hands lol ) to do this...hope this helps...

Ford mondeo mk3, intermitent dumping of water from cooing system, found crack in header tank, changed same, ran car at idle, temp guage at normal & heater blowing hot , took car for run , temp guage off...

You may have an air pocket in your system which some times happens.  One way to get rid of it is to take the upper hose off on the engine side,  fill your system with water until it runs out from your engine block, replace the hose, start your car turn you heater on and set to hi keep the radiator cap loose until the temp start to rise then close tight.  Once the air pocket had been remover you can drain some of the water from the radiator using the lower drain plug and add antifreeze.

Bmw 523i se heater blows hot and cold

Sounds like a thermostat sticking. Some things to do. First check coolant level is up and moving. Second (most likely), change thermostat. Very easy fix for backyard mechanic. Make sure to put thermostat in so water flow is correct direction. Look for arrow on side of thermostat. Next, is belt to water pump loose. Another easy fix in most cars.

I have a bmw 523i se and the windscreen wipers wont work have tried changing the fuse in the glove compartment but still wont work

it's normal, windshield wipers in bmws are connected to the speedometer since the old E36 3series, so they stop whenever you stop your car. If they start again once the car moves there's nothing wrong with your car!
