Re: Unlock and how to unlock

sorry there is no way. i've had 3 kenwood receivers stolen and they have always been locked. to test the validity of it i called and pretended to be a used purchaser to get a universal code, nope. nothing.

i guess call the people you bought it from or
return the stolen receiver

Re: Unlock and how to unlock

They usually have a standard code, ring the manufacturer of the car, and they should be able to give it to you.

go back to dealer they is a code for your head unit sometimes they will give you the code for free, or you may have to pay for the code to unlock.anyway im 99 percent sure thats the fix good luck.if somehow you disconnect the battery or it goes dead,or someone tries to steal or unplug power to head unit its made to lock might have the code in your paper work if you bought the yukon new.check threw all paper work or the manuel,you might find it address/ let me know how you made out.

Need master unlock code

As far as I nkow, you need to contact Kenwood with the radio serial number to get the unlock code. In the past, they would not give it to you without giving them a special code from a card that came inside the package. You can always try though, give them a call, the number is on their website.

Locked radio

This is a different type coded stereo. These stereos communicate with the car's computer. The dealership is the only one that can recode this stereo to communicate with the car's computer to work. I have seen the dealership charge over $100 for this ten minute process, I have also seen them do it for free. If you are not happy with the recode quote, call another dealership.

Radio unlock code

Press & hold the 2 & 3 buttons @ the same time for about 10 seconds; a 2 or 3 digit code will appear, write this # down,press & hold the am/fm button for about 10 seconds: another code will appear, write this # down, then call 1-800-537-5140 and enter 202108 followed by the * key, then enter the #'s that you wrote down from your radio followed by the * key. The call will give you a 3 or 4 digit override code. Write this code # down so you have it if you ever need it again. Enter this # into your radio following the instructions in your owners manual. If you get an override code that starts with 0, you drop the 0 when entering the code into your radio.
If you don't have an owners manual, try this, press & hold the hour button until the first 2 digits of your code come up, then press & hold the minute button until the last 2 digits show. Then press the am/fm button. This should reset your stereo.
if nothing happens you should leave your car running for 1 hour.
