I am also having the same issue...I get a Protection ...Good bye message when the system turns on. This happened after over a year of normal function after I plugged my iPod in USB for the first time. Any new ideas on how to fix this without taking it in for repair, such as software reset methods?
Thanks!
It is a piece of **** Home Theater system. I, like many others, have the same problem after it just passed warranty. What ****. It is obviousely a design problem and Samsung could not give a damn, otherwise there would be a recall or a warranty extension to fix these units.

Unit works fine with only speaker wires hooked up. As soon as I plug any a/v cable in or HDMI cable, it goes into protection mode and shuts down. After I unplug said cables, it works fine just listening to the radio.

Opened it and found 2 burned capacitors??Right next to the fan. This has happened to many people w/the same component .My question is why doesn't Samsung put out a recall? That would make all of us ready to buy again from them.2 years old and fried!!I have had many systems without any problems for 5/10 years and sold them without a problem.

I've had the Samsung HT-TX52 for almost a year now, and just recently, after about 10 mintues it keeps shutting off. Its almost like new and hardly used, why is it doing this? There is no error message, it just shuts off. I've tried unplugging it for a day, taking out all my wires and reconnecting them perfectly, and it still does this
