Question about Toshiba 46H83 46" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

Hey can any one help me with my Toshiba 46H83 rear projection hdtv? My screen is off center by about 3/4 of an inch to the right. The picture is prefect except for this. I've asked this question two times I received one reply that was not helpful he said something about stk's? he referred me to a health care site. Can one of my fellow experts help me? please. This is my second post http://www.fixya.com/ThreadAsker.aspx?thid=2729362# You'll notice I didn't rate this guy because he never followed up, and I didn't want to give him a not helpful thumb.

Also the picture was fine before I moved it 2200 miles. I opened it up about two weeks ago to do a thorough cleaning and check for physical damage. I found no damage and it was surprisingly clean for being 6-7 years old.

Thanks for replying welcomejee. I have just read the entire user manual, and can find no information on the service menu or how to enter into it. If you know of any tricks to access it I would appreciate them. Thanks again.

OK, need to go to service menu of TV and adjust HPOS data, you can move entire picture left to right or right to left to adjust it on TV screen.
Be careful NOT to initialize service data memory otherwise all convergence will be a mess.
How to go into Service Mode is written in service manual of TV.
Thanks.

Not user manual, these info would be available only in Service Manual that contains all technical data of any product.
I do not have service manual of this particular model. I have Toshiba 50H81, 50HDX82, 52HM84 model manuals.
I'm not sure about that above said manuals would apply to 46H83 or not. However you can download service manual of 46H83 from HERE for small fee but please remember, service mode is only for techs that know what they are doing, novice can damage service data with a single push of button in service mode.
    Thanks.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Picture off center on Toshiba 46" rear projection HDTV

On some models there is a picture position setting. One for horizontal and one for vertical. Don't mess with convergence, that probably won't help. Older models use knobs; new ones use the menu. Either way, you are looking for position adjustment.

Older sets, for each there should be size, hold, and position. Same for menus but it may have a picture that looks like one square offset on top of another.

Good luck. and if you need more help, please state the model #
