Question about Zenith P42W34P 42 in. EDTV-Ready Plasma Television
I GET VERTICAL LINES ON SCREEN ABOUT 1 IN. APART WHEN USING THE ANTENA AND S-VIDEO AND RCA INPUTS. WHEN USING THE COMPOSITE AND COMPUTER INPUTS THE PICTURE IS FINE. THE TV IS A SAMSUNG HLN617W. IT WAS SUGESTED TO REPLACE THE DMD BOARD. THE BOARD COST APPROX 900 DOLLARS. IS THERE A PARTICULAR COMPONENT ON THE BOARD WHICH CAN BE REPLACED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM OR MAYBE THERE IS SOMETHING OTHER THAN THE DMD BOARD CAUSING THE PROBLEM? PLEASE HELP!
Nope, nope and nope... It's likely the DMD board and unless you have some SMT (surface mount technology) equipment just laying around you're not repairing that board too easily... You could however remove it and send it in to PTS for rebuild at about half the cost of a new replacement..
