Color is off on projection tv, mostly any red coloring is very blurry
OK, the first of these sets was made in 2002 and it uses two convergence IC chips---some use a STK-392-110 AND A STK-392-150-----THE 150 is a higher current (more heavy duty version of the 110) I would replace both with STK-392-150's---YOU can buy both chips on Ebay for about 14 dollars plus shipping---sometimes there will be a bad resistor near one of the chips (taken out by a bad IC)
The reason these chips fail (they are black and about 2 1/2 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches tall) is that a white grease to transfer heat from them to the metal heat sinks they are bolted to---dries out from the heat and after 5-8 years one chip reaches a point where it cannot move the heat fast enough and it goes!
You can locate the chips inside the set---they will have the STK numbers printed on them in white---I do not know if you have the skill to do this repair yourself---if you do you can save some real money----
If you do not have the skills to do this find someone in your area who has done this before--most shops will TRY to charge 300-400 for this kind of repair---I do it here for 200-250 and do hundreds of them each year---I did 2 Hitachi's yesterday in peoples homes.
If a shop says: "it has to go to the shop" keep looking---any good tech can do this repair right in your home--MAKE SURE WHOEVER YOU GET TO DO THE REPAIR CHANGES BOTH CHIPS! If only one is replaced the other will fail and you will have the same problem again. This kind of repair usually takes about a hour to do---once the chips and any bad resistors are replaced the set is adjusted in a tech menu----SET SHOULD BE GOOD AND NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM AGAIN FOR 5 to 8 years!
Now is the slow time of year for TV shops--shop around--200-250 is a good investment and you could not replace a set like this for that kind of money

the picture would not let us adjust the blue or red any direction, on the far right side of the screen in the convergence screen it has many "wavy" red lines
is picture on 65TWX20b 3d looking? check in customer menu for convergence and see if blue or red will adjust in all directions--let me know if not adjusting and I will tell what the problem is and what needs to be done to fix it. SD TECH
