When my ps3 locks up during Save, everything is lost....bad experience after hours of improving my performance

Unfortuntaely, when a system freezes during a game save the save typically becomes corrupt and unusable. It can be very frustrating, but unfortunately it does happen. I have lost many saves to many different games over the past years.

I can't save any progress on the Professor Layton nintendo ds lit

After clicking "save" make sure you wait until it's done saving. You should click save then wait a minimum 15 seconds. Put the DS down and check your fridge for some leftover noodles, come back and turn it off. You should never click "save" then turn off your DS moments later.

If it isn't that, then make sure you aren't accidentally shutting off during parts of the game where it autosaves.

Also, keep the game stored in a non-humid area that is fairly warm. It could be being read wrong.

I just got this game second hand and cannot fgure out how to delete the previous owners files. Can you please tell me how to do this.

The game doesn't have an option for this

Simply overwrite the save files with your own

If having extra save files is a major concern, these can be deleted by corrupting the saves (such as turning off the DS during a save), but this should only be done at your own risk (in case something goes wrong)

When i turn on my ps2 and try to load a game it is saying that the memery card slot one is currupt. what do i do

It means your card is useless, that and your saved games. Most likely you shut it off during a save game state and it messed it up. However there are some games where you cant save at a certain point or the save data will get corrupt.

Opt 1: have a backup card. Without inserting the game, load the ps2, then make a duplicate save on your 2nd card.

Opt 2: format the card without loading a game in the ps2.

How do i save a game?

The game saves automaticly after beating each stages boss I believe.
If you press start and goto "end game" your progress doesn't save.

Best solution is to simply pause the game and close the lid and let the machine go into sleep mode while you take a break.
Then continue later and finish the stages boss and it should automaticly save for you.
However it may be one of those games that simply don't save during the story.
I haven't had the most amount of time with the game admitingly.

Saving the game data on Professor Layton and the Curious Village

The game should, of course, overwrite existing saves without problem (even if second hand)

You are not prompted to save when you quit (since there really isn't a quit or even a return to menu)

While the game does have a few set save points, the best way to save (which can be done at any time) is to use the Save option in the trunk (some players forget about this)

If you save into a save slot doing this and it's not there when you next restart the game, then something is wrong

It should also be noted that some (if not many) of the "second hand" copies purchased on eBay are actually pirated copies that have caused problems for players (including stopping with blacked out screens during the game)

If you are confident that saving just isn't working and you're unable to return the game for replacement or refund, one drastic course of action may be to corrupt the save (by quickly turning off the DS while it saves), thus causing the game to say the save is corrupted and make a new save file ... naturally, this should only be done as a last resort
