All GPS units need clear view of the sky. So lets start there by moving it to a better location.
2nd most issue is a dead battery that will no longer take a charge. Usually these special batteries are soldered in.
Look up your device in blogs to see if this is the case.

Nuvi 200w will not pick up sattalites

Make sure you are outside and as much in the open as possible. Staying stationary is the best way to insure a satellite signal. Give your GPS a few minutes if necessary to pick up a satellite signal. Also remember poor weather can effect a satellite signal reaching your GPS, just like it will satellite TV.

I work in the GPS industry and I am looking for a way to transmit a gps signal from a basement of a concrete building. A little background, I work for a company that monitors *** offenders. I work in a...

I don't think that would be legal unless something is type accepted by the FCC for the satellite frequencies that are involved. It probably wouldn't be a good idea if the public were to start "repeater" transmissions on the GPS satellite bands. They do that in Cellular ... and they even often have problems there with "repeater"s going into oscillation between the outside and inside antenna if installed incorrectly - which tears up cellular companies towers.

If there isn't anything made legally to do this, and you were to make something without FCC acceptance, then you'd become the offender and could end up wearing the same gps bracelet you're working on.

If ... the gps devices would take an external antenna, then you could run an outside antenna and jack that in for testing and activation.

Why is my coordinates off by 50-80ft. why? Side by side comparision of another gps shows my gps is not accurate. What do I do?

Hi,
Your GPS is accurate for that brand. I have a Lowrance I Finder Pro. We could both put in the same coordinates and come up in different locations. It is just the way the different GPS's get their signal from the satellite. I use my GPS most of the time for a sport called Geocaching and so when I am given coordinates and don't find the thing I am looking for I so about a 30ft-60ft search around where my GPS took me. So yours is basically doing the same thing. I wouldn't worry about it......it's just the way the different models receive the signal that thows them off a bit. If you went out and got a set of coordinates and then I put those same coords into my GPS I would arrive at a completely different location as you. All is well....no need to worry.

Can't get a GPS signal for last 24 hrs

I had a similar problem and did solve it with the soft reset (pressing reset button). I have a One XL and there is a small reset button that you push with a paper clip. On the XL 330 you press and hold the on/off button for 15 seconds and the unit should reset.

My symptoms: Would not find a GPS signal. When I looked at the GPS Satellite status (press on the GPS signal strength bars, again on the GPS/battery status) you can see it locking on up to 8 satellites but would still not show a gps signal lock. Normally it only takes 4 satellites to get a gps lock. My other sympton was that when I attached the GPS unit to the computer and operated it with TomTom Home, it worked fine and locked on to the gps signal quickly (even inside my home). But it would never (at least for 30 minute trips) lock on to a gps signal. After doing a reset it began working normally and locked on to a gps signal after finding 4 or more satellite signals.

Trying to wire nav man gps imput into a 585fcv furuno echo sounder,i no the white wire of the nav man nmea output ,but what coulour wire is the imput for the 585,white and blue.but which one is the signal...

white and blue is correct, white is signal, but be aware that manufacturers screw this up all the time, so try it both ways, and look for pulsing data on digital meter measuring 12V, should see meter jump rhythmically, from 0 to 4-12V. Confirm presence of data to maintain sanity
